This tool is basically a small, 2-sided file with a handle that easily allows you to hold the file surface flat to the item you're working on. The file piece is attached with a strong magnet into a slightly recessed slot on the handle so it holds in place well while in use. If you want to switch from the coarse side to the fine side, just pry out the file piece and flip it over.I need to refine my technique - my first attempt I created a lot of scratches along the sag I was trying to repair so I'll need to do more repair work. I could see this being a big time-saver for small runs and contaminants in paint - just give them a quick scuff and bring the surface nearer the desired height so you can continue buffing it out.
