It's a lightweight plastic. It would make a nice container for a goldfish or fighting fish. I wanted it as a planter. I'm using it to plant tulip bulbs, to for plant them and it's perfect for this. I was lucky it didn't arrive cracked because it was sent in an unlined, plain brown mailer
