I like the consistency of the ETAFLOW flux, it has a gel consistency that stays right where you dispense it. You do not need to worry about the flux running across the circuit board or dripping off the wire and making a mess on your working surface. I don't know if it is because of a substance in the flux that thickens it up, but it releases more smoke than the watery flux I normally use. I really like the syringe dispenser that has a fine needle and can be resealed when you are done using it. The braided desoldering wick with flux quickly and easily absorbs old solder once it hit its melting point.

This flux and desoldering wick worked well.I don't solder often. I used this to remove mouse switches from an older trackball mouse. I didn't burn the board or components, so this seems like a good product to me.There is also plenty of flux and braid remaining if I need to desolder additional components.

I got these for a small repair on a TV circuit board, and they worked great for removing the old solder. :) 5/5 They were exactly as advertised and worked perfectly for me.

The flux and wick arrived exactly as shown in the pictures, and everything in the box was in good condition with no defects. I got this because I have found that salvaging certain components, like resistors and capacitors, can be cost-effective. However, some high-value or specialized parts might be worth salvaging to avoid expensive replacements. Sometimes you come across discontinued parts that are no longer readily available, which can be particularly valuable for restoration or repairs. Additionally, old equipment may contain components that are no longer mass-produced, making them valuable for unique projects. It's important to note that this work can produce smoke, so be sure to do it in a well-ventilated area with proper airflow.

I had some common press switches on an old stereo board I salvaged. Most important thing to know is the desoldering wick doesn't contain flux. So you must first use the included flux. I found it best to put some on the component I was soldering off and a little on the wick itself. This seemed to work best with my Pinecil soldering iron set to 400c. The flux itself gives off some foul smelling smoke when soldering, so be careful of that. So this kit did work to remove board switches, but I prefer a wick I don't have to add flux to, especially if that flux smokes more than I'm used to.
