The wood handle is not properly nested to the metal spatula. The gap is large enough to collect water and food. Furthermore, there is a jagged edge to spatula where the wood transitions to metal, thus creating a hazard while using or cleaning. This is the second time I've received a defective Dexter Russell spatula sold directly by Amazon, leading me to believe that Amazon somehow ended up with a bad batch of factory seconds in the mix of its inventory

Just size i was after. Wood handle is nice. Haven't burnt it on my cast iron pans. Have hand washed it.

We had a similar sized unbranded classic turner that has worked very well for 30+ years but it was showing signs of age so I began to casually search for a replacement. I was dismayed to find few comparable offerings and the ones that even came close were all imports from you know where. Then I found the Dexter brand and my search was over. It's so nearly identical that I wondered if our original one was an unlabeled Dexter. It was the perfect replacement and made by fellow citizens!
