I use it to cut biscotti for second bake. It is very easy and doesn’t crumble my biscotti. It’s a great knife for the price.

Great knife for slicing bread. Why pay more when this knife does it as well as any other? I paid much, much more for a Japanese super steel knife (Tojiro) because it was part of the same line as my favorite kitchen knives. I never use the expensive knife because it doesn't slice bread any better than the Dexter, the Dexter is lighter, more comfortable to hold, and easier to use. Slicing bread with a scalloped edged knife just doesn't dull the blade noticably for a long time, and sharpening a scalloped edge is not like sharpening a straight edge, so the super steel doesn't add much value for me. It would be easier to buy a new Dexter knife -- if it ever gets dull in my lifetime. I actually did buy a second Dexter and decided I may never need it, even though I use it almost every day, so I'm going to give it to a friend when I hear of one who needs a good bread knife.

Simply put you're going to be hard pressed to find a better value in a knife than this. Cuts everything and feels balanced and stable in your hand while you work.

Dexter Russell (DR) is hands down the best manufacturer of kitchen cutlery for the money. I have been using DR knives for over 15 years, at home and working in a restaurant. They exceed the quality of much more expensive knives. You cannot go wrong with this knife or other DR products. I no longer buy any other knife brands for my kitchen.
