This is a great educational toy. The magnification is sufficient to magnify that which is already visible to the naked eye and there's also a small magnifying lens in the handle which is significantly less powerful. The microscope needs to be almost flat against the surface to be viewed, so flat surfaces are easiest to see properly. The lens is surrounded by a ring light which casts light of a very cool temperature. You are able to control the brightness of the image, but this does not change the brightness of the light itself instead simply altering the image itself. The image is of a low resolution, so keep expectations in check.

LOVE IT. Works great. Like, very impressed. I'm stoked. You can charge it and use it with the screen on the device or plug it in to use in on the computer screen. Good quality for a pocket microscope. I use it to look at some water samples and the occasional nifty bug that happens to cross my path.

The instructions on this seem really extensive, but the book has a few languages so it's not too bad. The instructions themselves are not bad but not great. For example, to delete a photo, it says to long press the review button to get the trash icon on the screen. What it leaves out is that once you have the trash icon, you press the power button to delete the photo. I think kids would really love this, and it's a lot of fun to put on different organic items (wood table, skin, leaf etc) and see it so magnified.

This review is for the Digital Microscope for Adults Kids, SETFLAGS Coin Microscope for Error Coins with Light,Portable Magnifying Glass,Collector Pocket Jewelers Loupe Handheld Coin Magnifier Microscope with 2" ScreenFrom the SETFLAGS StoreOkay, so I really have mixed feelings about this microscope. I was able to test it out on coins and I wasn't that impressed. You have to really get close to the coins for the coins to look focused and the light to me is way too bright. I wish there was a way to adjust the lighting on the microscope but checking the manual I could not find any way. Now I will say, with coins already in a coin notebook or protective plastic sleeves, I did have some better results as the plastic allows the scope to slide across the coins easier. Still, the light is too bright.I'm still giving this microscope 4 stars though, as I tested it on other objects with better results. I put the scope against some reading material with very small print such as medicine bottles and it works really well for this.I also tried it on a ring with good results, so useful for jewelry.I would say if your main purpose for a microscope is for coins, you're better off with a dedicated coin microscope. However, for children and even for yourself, this microscope could be really useful for other actions such as reading small print from medicine bottles.

This is a very cool little device. I started by charging it for a few hours, then went outside to explore. I was able to look at little seeds, bugs, and leaves, at a level very different from what I experience with just my eyes. The detail it can see is quite remarkable. When you turn the microscope on, a series of LED lights around the lens lights up, so you don't have to worry about light being blocked by the microscope itself. It also features a regular magnifying glass on the end of the handle, and a carry strap. It comes with a USB-C cable to charge (charger not included) and/or connect to a computer. The microscope has built-in memory that according to the manual can hold about 200 pictures, and it features a micro SD slot for a card up to 64GB (which I think would many many thousands of pictures). I took a few pictures outside to the built-in memory, but unfortunately those are not accessible by hooking the microscope up to a computer. That's not a big deal as I will just put in a spare micro SD card, at which point I'll be able to browse the card with the microscope hooked up to my computer. When hooking the microscope to your computer, you can choose to use the device as a camera, or to browse an SD card if you have one inserted. I chose to use the device as a camera, which was great because the Windows 11 Camera app recognized it the same way it recognizes my webcam. I was then able to use the microscope to take a couple additional pictures of items on my desk, which include a dime, and a ball point pen.I am really impressed that such a small device can magnify tiny things so well, and to be able to take a picture (and you can also take videos if you have a micro SD card installed, by holding the picture button down) is an amazing benefit. This would make a great gift for a young person, but also frankly for someone of any age who is curious about the world around them. I can see it also being useful to identify seeds, or to get a close look at a splinter.
