I Ordered a Dimarzio D activator DP220 fbk, received a DP 100, A DP 220 bar code was placed over the DP 100 bar code, I can think of a number of re reasons why this may have happened - an honest mistake is not one of them, Needless to say I promptly returned it, Be sure you look carefully at what your buying from this store, The manufacturer (Dimarzio) would not make this mistake.

Great crunch, very clear and punchy, awesome authoritative growl. Just an excellent all around high-powered pickup. Sounds very comparable to an EMG 81, but the clean's, are clean!! The company originally sent me the wrong pickup (DP100). They then resent a new CORRECT one (DP220), in literally 2 days. Not bad!!

This pup is harmonically rich! Super responsive and versatile to boot. My favorite so far! Ive had the EMG 81, Seymour Duncan blackouts, JB/jazz, dimebucker, black winter set, and the nazgul/sentient set. This pickup shines a bit over all the others. If in doubt, try it out!!

I've been a Seymour Duncan guy most of my life, but I never had much reason to be. So one day, after doing some surgery on an old BC Rich, I saw a small stamp on the back of the bridge pickup. Designed by DiMarzio. That piqued my interest as I was currently building a guitar to use with my death metal music project and my Seymour Duncan Distortions and Invaders just didn't have the punch and response that I needed for less djenty efforts. So I gave this a try. The guitar in question was a single humbucker strat-like with a fixed bridge. Since this pup was designed with the sharp, crispness of an active pup and I had a guitar equipped with EMG 81/85 combo, I figured I could give it a really good go. Plus the price wasn't as prohibitive as the more boutiquey brands.I bought it, installed it, and was at first dissapointed with it. In comparison with an Active pup like the emg 81, the DActivator is loud, aggressive, and prone to bottoming out in a muddy heap if you even dare scoop your mids. But after some thorough work putting it thru its paces, I'm now building a Tele-style four-pot-harness metal monster. The neck and bridge pups will both be DActivators. Why?Match this pup up with a rectified tube amp, leave the mids at 5 or 6, treble at 7, bass at 5 and you're golden. Crank the gain and you are on possession of a tight, crisp, aggressive, articulated snarl that I've not heard from the other pups I have lying around the music room. They'll be the exclusively used pickups on my bands next album. These are amazing tone for the money.

This is a great sounding pickup. It's hot yet clean. I like this even better then my guitar with EVH wolfgangs. Sorry EVH. I put this along with it's neck counter part and really like the tone I'm getting. I think this is a great choice if you're looking for a hot rod pickup that's clean and define.

Easily my favorite pickups. This—along with the neck version—replaced a set of EMG 81/60 in an Ibanez ARZIR20. I now have two guitars loaded with DiMarzio D Activators, and I couldn't be happier. Tested side-by-side with the EMG's they eventually replaced, they have the same clarity and punch present in the active pickups, yet feature a harmonic warmth the EMG's can't seem to match. Make no mistake, the EMG's are wonderful pickups, and it's ultimately going to come down to personal preference. With that said, I made my decision, and the DiMarzio's are it.
