We put these on several of our young trees a couple of years ago to keep the rabbits from chewing off the bark. Problem solved!

These are great to go around trees/bushes/sunflowers to keep them safe from weed whackers.

We were having an issue with rabbits chewing our new tree stumps. This was an easy fix to the issue!

I purchased these tree trunk protectors because I was continuously hitting the tree trunks with the weed eater. We placed these around the trunks and they are now healing. They protect the bark of our young trees which is what I wanted. We placed two around older trees . I would order them again..

Previously, we had deer eat almost half of the trunk of our small cherry tree. This product is much better than putting a fence around it (which the deer pushed over). Its sturdy, the clips that secure the roll around the trunk are great (otherwise the deer definitely would have pulled them off). Its a little hard to get the clips in place, but with a bit of work, I got em through the holes. It works like a charm, no deer issues, and our tree is well protected, and it looks so much better than putting up a bulky barrier/fence around it.

The squirrels started eating the bark on my Rose of Sharon. I put these on the entire Rose of Sharon trunk and the squirrels can no longer get to the trunk bark. It’s nice that they can be tailored to the size of the trunk and expand as the trunk grows.

I just installed my six-pack on 5 trees and am about to give them a test drive as I fire up my Stihl weed whacker for the first time this season. But I already know they're going to work great. They are a little shorter and narrower than I thought they would be. The height won't be a problem -- you weed whack at ground level and they are plenty tall to protect against getting too close with the trim string. Moreover, part of the appeal of the design is that they are inconspicuous -- you don't want them to be 4' tall. The narrowness means I had to join two together to get around a couple of young trees that have thicker trunks. No big deal -- the slot and clip design makes joinder easy.Regarding others' comments that the tabs are tough to get into the slots -- yes and no. If you are trying to do them with only brute finger strength, yes, it will take a couple of minutes and some finess. But with a flat blade screwdriver applied to the back points of the tabs they go in easily. More important, they are not going to come OUT easy. I disagree that the slightly tough insertion is a design defect; it's a feature and function of the material. The plastic is hard -- designed to stand up to a string trimmer smoking along at 1000 RPM, or whatever they clock out at. The material needs to be hard to withstand that. Plus, I plan to leave them on over the winter, and we have 60 mph winds here in Boulder. The tabs will keep them from sailing east into my neighbor's yard. So yes, you need to take a few seconds with a flat blade to push the tabs through the slots, but this is a First World problem.I do agree with the comment that in a less breezy climate you could probably skip the tab-slot process altogether unless you need to join two to accommodate a larger trunk. They really are tightly wound. If you have a 1" trunk, you can skip that step until the trunk gets larger. All in all, just what I needed and at the right price. Time to go test them out.

The main reason for purchasing this product was to protect the tree from a string trimmer. After installation and using my trimmer, it was observed that it does that very well. The expansion tabs allowed additional coils to be added to adjust for the diameter of a tree. The greyish color blends in with the color of a tree.I was very pleased with the purchase and would recommended the product.
