This kit was OK... it does NOT come with the extra support bars or the longer mount pole (as shown in the photo). It comes with the super short "stubby" pole which is pretty much useless for every mount location besides on top of a standard angled shingle roof. Overall, the kits comes with what you need, but I was disappointed to get the stubby mount, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Its does say in the desc to ask for another mount, but the photo should show the default configuration, which is apparently the stubby mount. Install was simple and I did not need a meter to lock all the sats. I did buy (and return) a meter, but honestly I locked the sats manually at like 92% and got 95% with the $500 meter so not worth buying IMO. Just get a good analog standard magnetic compass and you can point this dish.

This package contained ALL the parts and pieces for a complete install of a SWM system except coax, which I ordered separately in the length I needed. After assembly of the dish all that was necessary was to hook it to the receiver and align the dish, which took all of ten minutes. I live in a hurricane zone and the package included two braces of different lengths to further reinforce the installation if mounted on a roof or on a wall. My install was on a two-and-three-eighths diameter pole cemented in the ground so I did not use the braces. This is the fourth install I've done using this package and I will order again when I have another install to do.

If you think you can install your own satellite dish, you're wrong.Take it from an engineer with delusions of grandeur.

The kit was a good price for what you received. The only way to align the dish was to buy a satellite finder meter. After that, it worked perfectly. This dish works good for HD signals, but won't work for some older receivers. It came with a power inserter to power the lnb, because the receiver does not. I like the fact that you can hook up to 8 receivers to this dish with the provided (SWM) switch. My kit came with two monopoles for stabilization. Use them because this dish is much heavier than the older 18" dishes.

I received the dish ahead of schedule and it was packed well. The installation was a bit tricky since there wasn't any instructions. The alignment was really difficult but possible. Once again some instructions would have been helpful. I'm an electronics/ computer tech so my experience served me for this but I pitty the normal individual trying to install and align this dish.

I ordered this dish for upgrading my directv service before contacting directv. Wasn't I surprised when directv informed me that they would upgrade the dish for free. I then cancelled my order from AmazonMarketPlace (APEXSUPPLIERS) 45 minutes after placing the order. A week later after several unanswered phone calls and e-mails APEXSUPPLIERS finally sent me an e-mail that they cancelled my order.Interesting they then charged my credit card for the full amount, $152.32. Imagine my shock to open my statement and find that. My advice is to BEWARE of purchasing items from APEXSUPPLIERS.

The SWM is the latest HD LNB setup for DTV customers. Signal reception is slightly better over the previous 5LNB and now you only need 1 line out from the satellite LNB's for the HDDVR's, with the power for the LNB's no longer coming from the reciever. It is much easier to split the signal to several recievers and initial alignment is a bit more difficult for the DIYers. The picture on this item of the LNB is not of the SWM LNB. The SWM LNB has one line out and one large "egg like" oval in the center of it (this statement was true in late 2009 early 2010 but no longer is since there seems to be two types now). Note: I updated this review in August 2012 based on feedback/comments. If you really want to know the most current offering/setup details since it is always changing visit the web site dbstalk.com and/or call direcTV.
