No instructions included. When I wrapped thread the slits on the heddle are not deep enough so the threads move!

this is a wall type loom small for tapestry not for rugs, i ordered the largest and the rug it makes it so tiny that i would be surprised if you would be able to fit two feet on it! frustrated with how the directions are written and how tiny the loom is. waste of money unless you make wall hangings like i do.

Starting with the dislikes: The posted description and pictures are an absolute embarrassment - pictures of knitting and crocheting! Comments about making knitting easier! How does Amazon allow such nonsense? But because this loom was the only one I could find in the size I wanted, I gambled not really expecting it to arrive at the measurements specified. Well after waiting for over a month for it to ship I received a notice from Amazon telling me my refund had been processed!?!? I didn’t cancel. Amazon’s only suggestion was to reorder. Once again I was willing to take a chance because of the price and the size. Again I waited a month but happily it actually arrived and with the exact measurements specified.Another dislike: It is described as “polished” suggesting this will protect children’s hands. Nothing about this loom is polished. The good news is that the unfinished oak pieces are straight, quite sturdy, and pretty well sanded to be acceptable probably by most. I almost always finish sand and oil my new weaving tools if they come unfinished. This is a simple task that takes little more than an hour but adds immeasurably to the tactile experience of weaving. Once this one was finish sanded and oiled it was quite nice to hold.LOOM ASSEMBLY: Because I have worked with this type of loom before I had no problem assembling it. The “how to” video is a comedy routine as the assembler struggles through the process. You are better off just studying the photos of this and the many other smaller versions on Amazon to figure out which pieces go where. The shorter cross pieces go inside of the long side pieces with their inset holes facing out. Use the long screws to hold these pieces together. Screw them together as tightly as possible then test that everything is square by laying it on a flat surface to assure all four corners touch the flat surface. Place the two notched warp bars with inserted end screws in the slots at the end of the long side pieces. Screw in place with the washer and thumb screws firmly enough so they don’t slip or turn but not so tight that you can’t adjust the tension easily. Turn it so the notches face top and bottom. Once your warp is threaded adjust the tension by turning one or both of these ends. The rocking notched heddle bar is not attached but simply rests on the side bars as you are warping the loom. The warp holds it in place.This is a nice tapestry loom at a great price, nice quality and a size impossible to find elsewhere. Patience with the 4 week shipping time and an hour with finishing grade sand paper and vegetable oil will reward you with a very nice hand held tapestry loom. You can also place it in a table top book stand if you want to weave with it upright.
