Wash & Care Instructions
DMC Embroidery Floss can be washed frequently without fading. It can be washed at a high temperature ( 95° C/203° F). Be sure to pay attention to the washing instructions on the fabric on which the thread was embroidered.

How To Use Six-Strand Embroidery Floss
To separate the floss's strands, take your skein and find the tail that sticks out. Pull the tail out from the skein slowly until you have an 18" length of floss and cut it off. If you'd like to separate the thread into individual strands, pull one strand up and out slowly until it's fully separated from the others.
Take your strands, thread your needle, and begin your embroidery journey!

Just what I needed to organize the floss for my ‘temperature’ cross stitch. Easy to use and there’s a little tab to hold the floss band. Coujd t believe how inexpensive they are.

I am an avid cross stitcher, (no I don't do those simple cute little pictures you can get in your local Walmart). I cross stitch normally people's paintings that are rather large, very detailed, take over a year to do, and take me countless hours to do. I love cross stitching, but I hate wasting my time winding my floss. This floss holder literally takes only seconds to put a new thing of floss on it. Thus giving me more time to work on my cross stitch. I love using these holders.

I do a lot of embroidery and was tired of fishing around in my old cookie tin for my skeins. This keeps them nicely organized. I like that I do not have to unwind the skein to put it on the "bow" like you do if you buy the cheapy cardboard ones. I also like that it has a place for the label which is very important when you need to know what the color number is. I organize by project too. I go to a friend's house to sew sometimes and the binder is portable.

I like the long, slender style of these floss holders which leaves much less creasing on the floss, and *love* that there's no winding necessary. It's also less bulky to store than a full bobbin of the shorter variety. I was given the Stitchbow Floral Mini Needlework bag as a gift and find the combination of these items is, by far, my favorite way to organize a project! It's neat, quick and easy to use. I won't go back to the old plastic or cardboard bobbins.

These definitely work better than putting the floss on those flat, plastic pieces (floss left on these for a long time will crinkle and becomes a real pain to use). There is an "arm" to hold the paper from the floss with the number but it doesn't work all that well. I've gotten some stickers with the numbers and am just putting a sticker on each holder. It works pretty well until you get to the end of the floss and don't have a piece long enough to wrap around the holder. That said, I like these much much better than the flat plastic pieces and would definitely order more of these when I need them.

I am using the Stitchbow floss holders with the binder that was included in my Stitchbow Needlework Travel Bag, and I really do like them. They have made it so much easier to keep all my embroidery floss in good condition, organized, and easy to use. I will definitely keep using these floss holders for all my floss--Love the binder, too. It only takes a minute to transfer the floss onto the holders--it's worth the time it takes to do it. I highly recommend them.
