I love this brush and so do my cats! I’m sure it is good for both dogs and cats. It is a good size, has a smooth wooden handle to hold, and the bristles have soft tips on them to protect my pets’ skin. It is also easy to clean. I liked it so much after using it that I bought one for my parents!

This is a fairly large brush so may not do as well on small cats and dogs. It works well on our two normal sized, short-hair cats.The coated tips do keep the cats' skin and our fingers from getting poked/scratched and don't seem to restrict the collection of the loose fur much if at all.The coated tips does make it more difficult in cleaning the loose fur off of the brush and we end up leaving a little bit in the middle since we usually don't take enough time to get it all off.The wooden handle and base see to be good quality and are well sanded and varnished (i.e. very low chance of getting splinters).The MSRP price is a little bit more than other brushes and probably an ok value. If you can get it on sale, that would probably make it a good value.

Bought this for brushing my short haired cat. She loves her new brush and is a happy little kittie! I can very gently brush my long hair cats but they in general don't like to be brushed.
