Definitely held up to my 100lb pulling jumping lunging husky at the beach. Takes a lot of strength to get it into the sand properly, but that is probably why it holds up so well. I didn't like getting it out of the sand however. As you try to UNtwist it, the top pops off. Should be easily fixed with superglue, but have yet to try it again. Also, I have purchased a sand gopher to help start the hole, but haven't tried that yet either. If those work, then I'm happy overall with the product.

Fix for Previous reviews- eyelet unscrewing it out of the sand: One- get some Loctite 620. Grab a wrench, and the first thing you will do is apply the Loctite to the threads and screw in the eyelet and tighten. Let it sit for 24hrs (or more). After that, you will have no issues twisting it out of the sand. It has been good for multiple trips to the beach with hard pulling GSP and Weimaraners.

The product was easy to use but it is not secure enough for a medium size high energy dog. Dry sand didn’t work at all, but even in wet sand it pulls out very easily. Would work for small dogs like a pug, but not much bigger.

For context of this review, my pup is about eighteen pounds. My pup loves to run around. And while my pup has pretty good recall, the age is certainly puppy and distractions happen. This beach stake works great for keeping my pup safe and is fairly easy to use.

I wanted to love this but it's just hard to use. The instructions tell you to clip the carabiner around the shaft just below the eyehook, so that the dog's leash can move 360 degrees without winding around the stake. The problem is that the carabiner's opening is not really big enough to get it on the shaft. I ended up scratching up the powder coating trying to get it on and off. And despite the small opening, the carabiner is large enough that it feels like it could slip off the top of the eyehook (though probably only by breaking the carabiner). It also slips down over the collar on the shaft and sits on the sand so I will probably just put the carabiner through the eyehook and accept the reduced range of motion for my pup. The power coating is nice and it comes with a carrying bag which is nice for keeping the pieces all together as well as keeping the sand off other things after use.
