This tether is worthless! My FIFTY POUND pug mix has broken BOTH caribiners that attach him to his collar in 4 short months. I wouldn't recommend it for any animal except maybe an asthmatic chihuahua!

Definitely best for bigger dogs as this is a fairly heavy cord! The durability will stand up to strong dogs and heavy chewers. The thickness of the cord prevents any tangling and it works perfectly as a tie out!

The quality is top notch on this tether. The coating on the line is very flexible (not hard and brittle like others I’ve had). The color is super vibrant and easy to see in the yard so you don’t run it over with the lawn mower. It’s perfect letting my dog out for bathroom breaks.

I have two large breed dogs around 150lbs. Since I've only used them once so far (I bought two) I can't speak too much on them, except the one thing that was blaringly obvious. The screw connectors on the carabiners (I don't know what they are called) are flimsy, get stuck and can make it so they are jammed open. I'm a bit worried about that but I will monitor and see if it's a real problem as time goes on.

I used this tie-out cable with a swiveling base to keep my two corgis from wandering when I am working out in the front yard, driveway, or garage. The two dogs on a y-adapter leash are about 70lbs, so well within the 500lb limit. If you have a 500lb dog, you probably have a bear. The cable has proven sturdy and the locking carabiners mean the dogs can't somehow manage to get unhooked. A cable tends to be more tangle resistant than a rope. It is most definitely chew-proof.The cable works well for its intended purpose and the carry strap is a nice bonus.

This cable is very nicely finished, the ends are completely sealed off leaving no point for water to get in for rust or sharp edges to catch your pup. Both ends also have a carabiner attached to a swivel so no worries about tangling on either end. The coating is smooth and consistent across the length of the cable, will probably get a few chew marks over time but seems thick enough to protect the dog from wire splinters before I will notice damage. Carry handle is a very nice touch for taking to the park/beach as well or just making sure you always have a longer tie-out with you and keeping it in the car.

With nine dogs, they take turns being off leash and I'll usually have a few of them tied up in the backyard with me while the others are off leash. I've tried so many different cables and the thinner ones always end up getting kinked up and distorted so they get tangled too easily. I have another one that is quite thick like this but the end clasps which worked great initially end up getting rusty and then are hard to open and close. This blue cable is nice and thick and the end class are made of metal that is never going to rust and they're also very strong. You can walk the Carabiner end Clips with the little blue dial that screws up over the clasp to lock it in place but I don't usually need to do that. The only problem with that design is if you get sand in the screw portion it makes it harder to turn the dial. Another nice thing about having a thicker cable like this that is smooth and flexible it doesn't get kinked up even when it gets Tangled Up with the other cables. Like I said the thinner cables always end up getting kinked and bent which makes them much more susceptible to getting tangled with the other cables. Overland very happy with this cable and it's also a very good length. I don't carry mine around but if you do take your dog out somewhere it's nice to have the cable carrying belt that comes with it. You simply Loop the cable into a circle and clip it into the carrying belt for easy portability. Highly recommended!
