I got this to use on my TV with my iPad mini and this works just as described, I didn't have any issues with it and you basically just connect it to your iPad Mini or whatever device you want to use that might work with USB-C and then connect to your HDMI cable and connect that HDMI cable to your TV and thats it. Just make sure you see what HDMI port you used on the TV so you can switch the channel to that HDMI and it should work that easy. I really liked how easy it is to use I had bought another one a few years ago that didn't work the way this did so I was really happy with this one. The one thing I am not sure is that the picture quality isn’t supper great but I don’t know if its the movie i was watching or the TV. I don’t have the best TV as I bought more for size than quality so that may be the reason, nonetheless i liked how it worked for what it is, also it isn’t the highest refresh rate on the cable so many things come into play with what you see on the TV and its quality.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Pretty solidly built all around, with the main adapter part made out of aluminum and the cable itself coated in either rubber of silicone. Unless you put it through some incredible abuse, it should work pretty well with normal use.AESTHETIC QUALITY: Not much you need to see here; a pretty simple design, and I rather like the silver-on-black design myself.EASE OF USE: From my testing, it works as described, and specifically with a Surface Pro X I happen to have on hand. I did confirm it didn't work with my Nintendo Switch or my personal laptop, though that is likely due to the specifics of those devices, rather than anything with this adapter.VALUE FOR MONEY: This is where it gets more complicated, however: there's quite a number of USB-C-to-HDMI adapters out there, and the price-point for this is definitely higher than those, or even ones with more features, such as acting as an actual USB-hub, or have the option to plug into a power-source.OVERALL RATING: A simple but effective option, though unfortunately with the downside of being more expensive than other, equally useful options out there.USED WITH: Nintendo Switch, Surface Pro X, Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3

I was given a laptop for work, its a great laptop but only have 3 USB-C ports and an SD card port, nothing else. Needless to say I need to buy adapters, I ended up buying a hub and its works great but I wanted something smaller and I came across this. What I found myself using almost on a daily basis was the HDMI port on the hub. This is exactly what I was looking for. This is a simple, USB-C to HDMI adapter. Its plug and play and works with my Dell laptop, other peoples Toshiba laptop and my Samsung phone to hook up to a projector. It is made of aluminum and rubber like material. It has the capability of doing 4K but my laptop doesn't do that so I don't know how good that works. But for presenting at work, this is a simple and lightweight option to carry in my pocket. I am very happy with this adapter and can recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.

Small, unitasker, cheap, works.I got this because I was dumb a few weeks ago.I just got a new workstation. The new one is lighter faster better… but there’s no HDMI port. I can tell that they KNOW they screwed up because there is a dongle IN THE BOX to go from USB C to HDMI. Unfortunately I only trust dongles if I have two of them.This one only does one thing, does it well, and doesn’t take too much room.Next time I get a new workstation it will have an HDMI port.

I had ordered this for my work laptop, so that I could add in additional USB-c devices. It had a single port so this turned it into being able to add in 4 usb-c devices on to it. I had also wanted to try out a hub for my iPad Pro for when I travel. Its size and functionality made it the perfect choice. Once I had slowed my travel, I actually made this part of my office setup as I needed multiple USB C connections for camera and speakers, so this hub is now living in my office at work. It works great and handles the audio and video from my Emeet Capsule, quite well. I hope that this helps.
