The poorly designed driver’s window in my 2005 Subaru Legacy Ltd switch failed causing the driver’s side window motor to burn out. Disassembly and reassembly of the door to replace the motor took a couple hours but went smoothly.The motor fit perfectly. Everything lined up and went together well and, combined with a new switch everything works like it is supposed to.Hopefully it will work fine for the remaining life of the car. Will update if it fails prematurely but until then it is recommended.

Ordered the driver side operator and received the driver side operator! Package was quick and just what we needed to get my window fixed. Found a great YouTube video and with a little patience got it done in less than 15 minutes .

It seems to be working fine after installation. Only 2 screws lined up instead of 3 on the factory motor for my Subaru Legacy ‘05. It fits fine in the door.

I did not want to spend $800 to have my window fixed at the dealer, so I decided to purchase this, a new switch, and turn on google. This item works better then the original window motor. Only issue is that it is a challenge to do yourself. If you are not a handy person, pay the money and have someone else do it. If you have patience and time, and tools, take on the task and save a nice chunk of change.

A better idea if your regulator/motor combo is relatively new and you suspect the switch may have burned out the motor. My mechanic tried to get me to buy the whole assembly. I had the receipts from the previous owner and know that the whole assembly had been purchased recently but the switch hadn't. The switch hadn't acted right so I bought one from salvage with a warranty, then I got this part and everything is working well. I saved a good bit of money doing my own research insisting that I do it my way with the mechanic. If they don't back down, I just move on and find someone else. It's not often that I feel confident enough to do this, but I am so sick of their aggressive pricing and overselling of parts and services that I do what I can to protect myself.

Installed this item in a 2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon as an OEM replacement for the driver side front door. No issues encountered and install went smoothly. This unit uses an electrical pigtail that connects directly to the factory harness. Simply secure the pigtail to door and you are good to go. Motor is strong and window opens and closes quickly. Would buy again. I have recently purchased a Dorman regulator / motor for a Honda CR-V and this motor. Not disappointed.
