This item arrived quickly and installed with no issues. We will see how long it lasts, but from the visual inspection that I did it seems to be of equal quality to the OEM one that it replaced.

Update- 08/14/23After 1 year of being on the Jeep, and still in build process (not driven) the firewall grommet that it came with dried out, cracked, and is leaking when it rains.This was a much needed part at a far better price than local parts stores or the dealership. It replaced the questionable set up from the previous owner of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ build I'm working on.

Tried a product one third of the cost of this cable and while it looked well built it did not function well. This product installed quickly and works flawlessly. If the Dorman brand product is available for your needed auto part, buy it with confidence.

Looked great when it arrived. Fit nicely and easy to install. Unfortunately it broke a week after I installed it. The handle pulled right off.

Worked perfect on my 2000 XJ Cherokee. Imagine my dismay when my Jeep broke down on the side of the freeway in the middle of nowhere and the hood release handle broke off in my hand as I tried to open it. Bollocks!

The part worked great. The handle had broke off of the original latch, so we couldn't get the hood open. My son went online and found we could reach in and just cut the old one to get the hood opened. Then he installed it himself! We were also having trouble with the hood staying down on one side and it even seemed to help with that problem! The part came in like 36 hours! We were very impressed!!
