Direct replacement for my ‘95 Jeep Cherokee. Easy to install, drill out rivets on latch pull, unscrew 3 torx screws in handle pull and re-rivit to latch & re-install torx screws. My latch was bound up with dirt ( which is why original cable broke at handle); so I cleaned it with solvent & wire brush - new cable works perfectly.

This cable fit perfect, replaced the one on my 90 Comanche. Everything fit back together. Just spray a little silicone on the rubber grommet in the firewall to make it go together easier, also ensure your latches release before shutting your hood.

Worked about 5 times and then I was right back to a non working hood release. Product was not the same length as factory cable which caused it to come loose from hood release. Too long.

This is an exact replacement for 1996 Jeep Cherokee which means it will fit earlier years as well. Installed quickly, an installation note-install from inside car to end run under hood, push the rubber grommet thru fire wall from inside car till you can grip other end under hood and pull until it seats into place on firewall. Also the original fasteners for my brake cable were Torx so be sure you have a set. Easy install took under an hour and only frustration was using cut off wheel to cut away plastic to get at original cable end to open hood.

Bought the cable for my 1990 Jeep Cherokee to replace a broken one. When I installed the cable and went to test the latch, the cable snapped right at the handle. I was not pleased, but it happens. Customer service was very professional and a replacement was immediately sent. A few months later and the new cable still works perfectly. I would do business with the seller again.

Arrived as advertised, easy replacement. Although this was not the entire problem I was having this helped, as the cable underhood was starting to fray.
