Ordered and received it in May 2024. Went to use it and saw that expiration date on tube was Oct 1, 2023. Tried it on a test piece and it is horrible...will not cure; remains tacky. Unable to return because outside of return window. Lesson learned.

I was looking for a dark gray silicone sealant to seal around my granite kitchen sink. Clear silicone was used originally, and mold is showing inside the sealant bead. I don't recall what brand of silicone was used originally, but obviously it was not mold-resistant.I understand Dow 795 is considered a very fine construction sealant, but it makes no mention on the tube of having any resistance to mold. It may be that not many do. But Gorilla Glue clear silicone sealant does, so I am giving that a try instead. For those who may not know, once you seal with silicone, it is considered by the building industry that the surfaces cannot be re-sealed with anything but another silicone product...nothing else will stick to the surface, even after a thorough removal of the original. Something to consider when choosing your first sealant for new construction.

Works great. Dries with some resiliency, but very firm.

This is great stuff when you have to get a good bond to aluminum. I dries much more slowly than most silicone, making it much easier to work with and I believe it holds up on exterior and marine applications much longer than other silicones.Beware, though. This stuff is good in the tube for 1 year. There's an expiration date printed on the tube. A tube I bought from a seller on amazon was 7 YEARS out of date! I recommend picking it up locally if possible.
