I've been drumming on and off for 30 years. Some drumline and some set. This set I found fine to get back to practicing. The bounce is more suitable for those who like a less snappy feel. If you're into high tension heads like a marching snare, this might not scratch your itch. The sticks are appropriate for a set player and the stand is useable but a little fidly
