All controls worked well but plastic feels cheaper than oem. Duplicate Controls work but tactile feels is not on oem feel.

After buying a Nikon D800 the first thing I wanted is a battery grip. I owned this brands battery grip from a previous Nikon D300. So, I had some background with the quality of DSTE battery grips. The build quality of the battery grip is very good. The rubber cover is nicely grippy. The depth of the grip fits good in the hand. The shutter button has a distinct detent for both the focus and shutter activation points with a good feeling click. The action wheels have a distinct click with each point in the rotation. The attachment between the camera and the battery grip is better than expected. The genuine Nikon battery grip is rock solid. This grip, thanks in part to the metal location pin, fits nice and snug, with only a hint of movement between the grip and the camera. The secure fit is so good, that I have no concern that the two may separate under the weight of a large heavy lens.

Grip utilisé pour contenir un accumulateur EN EL-18D. Sur trépied ce grip est plus rigide que d'autres grips équivalents dans d'autres marques. J'en suis très satisfait.

Well built, solid identical Nikon grip, fully functional. Command wheels feel a little flimsy (plastic) compared to the camera's. Great product for the cash, though.

Just does the job. Buttons are nice and firm. Nothing is rattling. Joystick could have been little less stiff but I quickly got used to it.

Excellent!!! ANOTHER excellent purchase from this manufacturer!! I had bought this brand for my Nikon D7100 about 3 years ago-perfect!! Felt great...fit tight and has never left my camera since. Bought a different brand for my new (to me) Nikon D800, thinking it was this same manufacturer and was questioning why battery kept seeming to drain very rapidly overall (even when off). Noticed green connection light on back of camera would flicker when carrying on strap too. Bad connection? Sure enough...I bought this brand just to compare...BOOM!! NO more battery life issues. Fits perfectly for my large hands and all buttons function perfectly (after about 5 seconds of use to wear them in, I guess). I was NOT going to buy original at $400. Far too rich for my blood...that's 1/2 the cost of a new quality lens. At least with my experience so far, excellent product and outstanding value!!

After a year of use, grip power connection became and issue. Turning off, tightening, removing battery, or turning sideways did not help. Became unreliable during event group shots or any critical moments of photo shoots.

External battery grip has buttons that are meant to operate autofocus/fstop/shutterspeed etc, however the focus button does not work at all, and the other buttons cause the camera's menu or playback feature to stop operating when the battery grip is put in the "Locked" positionThis device will go back and we will see if a replacement will work properly

I purchased this for my new Nikon D810. I previously owned a Nikon D800 and I purchased a Zeikos knock-off grip. Both the Zeikos and the DSTE MB-D12 were roughly the same cost. About $40. Compare this to Nikon's grip which is $450. As it turns out, my business partner opted to pay the $450 for the genuine Nikon grip. We compared them side-by-side. So far, after mounting the DSTE grip to my D810 I am VERY happy with it. It works flawlessly. Feels solid and sturdy. The buttons all function as they should and are more solid than the Zeikos version. Comparing the DSTE side-by-side with the genuine Nikon grip they feel very similar but look identical. The only noticeable difference between the Nikon version and DSTE is that the Nikon focus-point joystick button feels more firm and elastic, where the DSTE is a little more soft....but not much of a difference. Even my friend who paid $450 for the Nikon version was a little upset that he spent the money on the real thing after using the DSTE version. I decided to purchase the DSTE after reading reviews on DPreview web site. So far 5-stars! I'll report back after a few months of work if there are any problems.

I bought this battery grip based on the positive experience that I have with DSTE MB-D11 grip for my other camera D7000. I have a Nikon grip for D600 and found it is just a little bit better than 3rd market grips, so I bought this grip because I do not have the heart again to spend 300+ dollars for one Nikon grip. I have no problem with this grip and it has been performing great with all functions.

Have used it for a couple of months. Seems to be a reliable product. Fits well and operates perfectly except forthe toggle switch that is a little rough
