Burner is okay to use for some things but seems to cook either VERY hot or barely warm. Not much middle ground so if you like cooking on high or low it's fine. Maybe I got a defective one or maybe that's how these are built.

This cooktop is very convenient. I got it since I don’t have a side burner in my outdoor kitchen, and it works great. It has a stylish design with a glass surface that's effortless to clean. The control panel is user-friendly, easy to use, and features touch-sensitive buttons. It does take a few min to heat up, but the temps are accurate, which I think is important a range of cooking methods, from simmering to boiling. The adjustable temperature settings provide great flexibility.Overall, this hot plate is a good, inexpensive solution for cooking. I’d recommend it.

I always have a large garden and can a lot of the extra produce I harvest. You are always running the canner at the worst possible time when it is the hottest weather. I have been setting up a second kitchen in the garage and just need a burner to simmer sauces and run the canner. I have a gas burner that I use for this, but wanted to use electrical for things like simmering tomato sauces. I tested this and it works great.

When I unwrapped the unit I found a loose screw in the box. Looking at the bottom there was one hole with no screw. Turning the unit around I could hear metal parts clunking around inside!I opened it up by removing the 8 side screws. Inside one of the three support posts that hold up the hearing element was unconnected and bouncing around. One of the other posts was wiggling loose about to fall off.I reinstalled the post and tightened down the loose one. Then put on the 3 support springs and the burner. When I screwed the top back on I found one of the side screws holes was stripped.Once it was together I powered it up and tested it.Worked perfectly, heated quickly. You can see the infrared element glow through the dark glass when it's at full power.Although it starts heating relatively quickly the time to boil water is slower than a induction burner. This does have the huge advantage of working with aluminum, glass and ceramic cookware, all of which won't work on induction.I expected this to be nearly silent, but there is a constant fan noise.Whomever did the quality inspection did a poor job.

I have a gas burner and I hated having to buy gas for it all the time. Now I can use this one for grilling/heating stews while eating. Just using electricity without having to spend more money on gas tanks has been such a relief. Highly recommend!! Also great for camping :)
