I purchased several of these units (gave to others as gifts). Two of the 3 units initially provided good readings and no problems. After a couple of weeks, the unit began to display Lo with a red display. Changed the batteries, error display continued. I contacted the maker directly. This was there reply:Seems you may be experiencing a malfunction with your device. Please note that a flat rate of $35.00 will be charged to cover a service fee/replacement and return shipping of your device. All warranty claims must be accompanied by a copy of your proof of purchase from an authorized retailer. I want to return but it says I have passed return date. I have been sick and in the Hospital and Rehab Center. I want to return because it doesn't work.

My wife bought 1 of these because 3 of my grandchildren live with us.We've used this to verify the kids temps to decide whether or not they could go to school. The temp is usually in the same range, about 96.5 - 98.0.Today, my youngest grandchild felt warm when he woke up so my wife tested him and got 97.3. As a nurse she decided to use a rectal thermometer being that is the most accurate. It read 102.2. So I have no faith in this thermometer.

Advertises reads between 93.2-109.2. I purchased 2 and both do NOT when I am cold. My stomach will read 97, and my forehead and arm are too low to read. I question the accuracy
