Slightly smaller than a traditional design gives greater control. These have just the right amount of flex for strumming and single-note playing. The thicker gator picks can sound a little dark but this thickness allows for a bit of pick noise and flex to give just a touch of brightness back (less dark). The coating helps with grip. These are the only picks I use.

I religiously use Fender Thin with electric guitar, which are .46 -- thought these where worth trying with the acoustic wanted a slightly thicker pickUsing a thicker pick I naturally want to hold it lighter in my finger, and seem to drop more pick, the texture on these are supossed to help that.. after trying them, I don't really notice that helps so much, maybe a little..but my musician buddies that play medium picks seem to like them.. I bought the 72 pack,, and been handing them out to other musicians to try.. non have called to tell me their the greatest..

This particular guitar pick has been my favorite for acoustic guitar for several years now. Not only is the material strong & durable, it's also flexible enough to let me get many different nuances out of the guitar. I don't like a pick that's too light because there's no room to dig in, but on the other hand, a pick that's too heavy doesn't yield that percussive character associated with acoustic strumming. This pick has the perfect balance between those two worlds, and best of all: they don't break.

Definitely my favorite pick for rhythm playing, as there is enough flex to make the down and up strum equally comfortable and plenty of grip in that little smiling gator.
