We had some issues with our 6x6 posts showing a potential to rot on the exposed tops. These are installed quickly and make the top of the post look great. I left them on without attaching them and checked after a few rains. We aimed to keep the post top dry, which they do, and making them look great is a bonus.

These are really nice, heavy duty caps. They have about 1/2" of overhang which helps if the tops of the posts are not cut off clean. My builder cut pyramids into them, but over the years they just sucked up water and rotted. These caps should be installed when the deck is new. Honestly, I was expecting a thin aluminum and concerned they'd get smashed, but these are HEAVY DUTY, rock solid caps that fit perfectly. I had to trim a corner off two of them for posts against my house and each one wore out a Dremel blade trying to cut through them. I wish I'd put these on years ago.

These are heavy duty good quality caps. They are large enough to cover the ends of a 6x6 inch (5.5 x 5.5 inch actual sized post). The only drawback is the screws are a bit short for my installation as the post have already been cut in at an angle and the shorter screws do not want to go straight in. But these caps are the real thing.

Well-made covers for deck posts. Easy to install, reasonably priced, ... will probably outlast the other deck members. Highly recommend.
