I am using them to anchor the 4"x4"s for the railing to a floating deck I'm building. I wanted a clean look, and since the railing is decorative I am adding it to the top of the deck - not as the supporting posts on the ground. These brackets give the whole thing a clean look, and I was able to attach the posts to the deck easily and securely. Worked great for my needs!

These post bases are heavy duty, have a nice black matte finish that is powder coated and includes lagbolts as well as expansion bolts for mounting to concrete. They have a very nice clean look and look more like designer hardware than normal.They were packed with plastic bubble wrap separating each base so there were no signs of any scratched or chips in the finish.The bottom is open, but I do see one slight issue.If these are mounted flush to your floor or slab, even though the base is open, I can see that rain water can accumulate on the inside leading to potential rusting. The opening in the bottom is smaller than the post opening resulting in a shelf about 3/4" that can trap water. In my case, I am mounting these to concrete slab and will be putting some stainless steel washer spacers under the base to keep it above the concrete.I don't want to drill any holes that would expose bare metal, so will keep my fingers crossed that they don't start rusting out.

After looking for a while to find some decently priced post brackets I stumbled on these. I'm glad I did. The construction is pretty beefy. The coating seems like it will last though I did add 2 coats of black paint just to give them even more corrosion resistance. Install was easy except I used some Tap Con concrete anchors rather than the supplied expansion bolts. Also used some Simpson strong tie screws rather than the provided ones. I don't really trust generic hardware. I think those little upgrades will prove to make the foundation of my little gazebo much more resilient. The brackets are great though.

The SZSFSYYX 4x4 Post Base, 4Pcs Deck Post Base(Inner Size 3.6"x3.6"), Heavy Duty Powder-Coated Steel Post Brackets are perfect for attaching to a concrete stem wall footing. I used these for installing a larger privacy wood gate on the side of my home. The fence and gate was mounted to a concrete stem wall and the existing posts had to be removed. I did not want to move the fence line forward or reverse so I chose to use these brackets to attach the new posts to the stem wall. By mounting the brackets with the included expansion bolts the brackets where strong enough to withstand the pressures from high winds and a heavy 60" wide privacy fence gate opening and closing. These brackets are sturdy with a durable black finish to stand up to the elements. They come with all necessary mounting hardware of good quality. The brackets have a full bottom plate and are pre-drilled for quick and easy installation. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality, strength and durability of the SZSFSYYX 4x4 Post Base's and consider them an excellent value!

My house's front porch -- a concrete slab with brick steps -- has no handrails ... a big no-no according to the building code that South Carolina insurers insist on applying to homes built before codes existed. So ... I need a solution that lets me build on top of that slab with minimal demolition. That's where these heavy-duty brackets come in. I'll use my SDS+ hammer drill to set lead anchors in the concrete, bolt these post bases down, then build the handrail system on them. The powder-coated finish promises to resist rust for a long time, and the black bases will add a touch of class to my finished project.NOTE: These are sized for "finished" 4x4 posts, which are actually 3.5x3.5 inches (nominal) after having been planed. If you're planning to use true 4x4s, you'll need to "slenderize" the ends where they fit into the post bases.

We used these to support our 4x4 8ft beams for a temporary shade sail while we save up for the materials to turn it into a more permanent structure, a pergola. The bolts provided were pretty cheap and weren’t securing into the concrete like they should’ve so we used some leftover concrete bolts we used on a previous project instead. Once we did that we thought we were good. Not even an hour later after completing the project, the bottom outer lining of the supports began to buckle. The only weight it was holding was that of the wooden 4x4 8ft posts and the shade sail. In one of the pictures in the description of the product shows these being used to support a pergola and I highly doubt these would be able to do it if they can’t support 8ft tall wooden beams. We have to redo the whole project and I’m glad they failed when they did instead of a few months from now when we do build the pergola adding more weight onto them. This might be fine for smaller projects like 4ft tall railings for a deck or something, but do not use if you are wanting to build a pergola. I don’t really know what would cause this and why they would buckle like they did, but here we are…
