I particularly like that this instrument require less maintenance and is more durable than my old wooden Buffet. Many still feel my Buffet to had a much richer tone and fuller sound. The mouth piece and ligature that comes with the instrument are useless, which I regret. I'm still within the return date and will still play the instrument to learn more about it and try different mouthpiece and reeds. If I decide to keep it, I will likely have to have some key adjustments done; I feel there might a slight height conflict in the lower and top rings on the lower and upper joints that result in leaks. If I adjust the joints a bit, it seems to improve. The build quality and keys are top notch, and it is a good price for suchquality.

This is great for students and or playing under extreme conditions. Keywork is excellent - great buy!I one of the Clarinet gurus out there, and approve this instrument. Very high quality. (I run the largest Clarinetist group with over 45,000 members in my group).

I like the sound and quality of the build of this instrument. The price was right and since is not wood it requires less maintenance. This is an excellent clarinet for a beginner or intermediate player.

Second purchase! That’s right I bought another one! My first one I sold to a friend who needed a good clarinet, used some of the money and bought me a new one! This time around though, I had to get a music technician to adjust some keys, some of them came loose, no big deal it was 60 to get fixed. Now I play it with joy, it’s my backup when my wood one needs a break, this is a reliable clarinet, it’s been 3 months since I got that done and it plays perfectly still. Might look into upgrading the barrel and bell, be sure to use your own mouthpiece, the ones they supply are still not good quality nor the ligature. Easy fixes for sure. I recommend this as a backup or a doubler. It’s nice and I get compliments on it all the time when I bring it to rehearsal lol. I love the keywork but the only annoying thing is the pads, they’re white leather so upkeep and care is required, buy some pad juice to help clean them when you get a sticky pad, once I need an overhaul most likely going to the waterproof pads next time around. Love the clarinet, thanks!

I bought the Shine Duo ST1 which is exactly like the ST2 minus the EB key and the sound is nothing short of phenomenal! I have a Buffet Prestige professional level wood clarinet and I can’t tell the difference other than their weight. I don’t know how they can manufacture a clarinet made of ABS that sounds equal to a clarinet made of Grenadila wood but they have. The sound and keys quality could take you to a professional level playing in a Philharmonic Orchestra and no one would know the difference except you and the affordable price you paid!
