it’s a very well made stand, as I was expecting from DW. I liked the ability to keep everything compact and better positioned than you could get otherwise. My issue was with the hats. When I used the slave pedal it would slightly shake the whole stand, cause the hi hats to crash together. No amount of adjusting fixed that problem for me.

The hardware is good quality and tough (standard for DW). However, when it arrived after being on order for 4 weeks, it was missing two components. So, I will have to wait until another stand ships so that I can cannibalize the parts and ship the rest of it back.

This configuration was appealing to me so I thought I'd buy it. There are no shops near me so online was the way to go.When the pedal arrived it was damaged during shipment. DW replaced a metal part that got bent. It was the spring tension bracket on the hat stand, but it is for the left bass pedal adjustment . This bracket also assists in locking the legs and footboard assembly in place. It is notched and fits to lock in the unfolded , play position. You'd know what I'm saying if it was in front of you.So when the part arrives a few weeks later, I set up the unit. The shaft between the hithat side and the beater side of the set up is barely long enough. The set screws barely have enough of the inner solid part of the telescoping mechanism to lock onto to. The Tama iron Cobra pedal I have has much more adjustment in them. ~ my set up is not extraneous at all.~On the hihat side, there is almost no shaft for the setscrew in the universal link to clamp onto. It's too short. This will not endure over time, especially if gigging and getting road worn.Then, I notice the left bass pedal is low next to the hat pedal and it made switching between left bass pedal and hi Hat an unsmooth motion. After a chain adjustment and spring tension adjustments to make the foot board even with the hihat pedal, the beater for the left side is WAY to far back and the travel is just not useable.. It turns out there are twodifferent cams , a different one on each pedal. One is a turbo and one is an accelerator. They should be matched. There are no other cams included in the box and pedal bag that came with it.Also, While making adjustment I was also disappointed to see the metal used is cast pot metal for some of the parts. This will easily strip or can break in time. I was under the impression DW was high end, but the 5000 series really is not at all. its on par with other makers low-mid hardware.In conclusion, as far as the functionality goes; either I got a lemon or the quality is just not there. I will need to contact the vendor or DW directly to get the correct cams and a tiny stripped hex set screw.If you don't have the opportunity to physically see this stand and play on it, proceed with caution when purchasing. The let down is huge.

Great product, heavy duty and everything you’d expect From DW. As it explains however you cannot reverse high hat foot petal and bass pedal, the bass pedal is to the left of high hat pedal so a little different configuration.

The hat stand is a huge improvement over the stand I previously used, all by itself. The double pedal action is smooth and consistent, as you would expect from a DW5000 pedal. With the pedal on the outside, I can keep the hats where they have always been. It also keeps the kt compact, a bonus when you are dealing with limted space. The linkage has some internal friction, which makes getting the two pedals adjusted the same impossible, but that's typical of all double pedals I have tried. This is no worse than any other pedal, and better than most. There are plenty of ways to adjust it to get it close. The one nit I have to pick is the extra hardware and fasteners that came with the pedal, but no instructions about what it was all for or what kinds of options the hardware applies to. The optional toe stops are self explanatory if you have seen a DW pedal before, but there was a bag of screws and other bits that left me baffled. Better too much than too little, but it would be good to know what the purpose of all those screws and little fittings is.

If you like your slave pedal to the left of your hi hat this is for you! I havent tried to use the pedal with a cowbell but you cant have the bass drum and cowbell work together as is, however for me this is not a problem, have the slave connected to the hi hat and the linkage not crossing in front makes this a winner in my book! It is bulky when taken down so consider this if you gig alot, the pedal and hi hat are smooth and and quick. I recommend this!

You cannot play the cowbell and use the double bass pedal at the same time. Description states " Switchable" which means disconnecting the double pedal linkage and using it as a stand alone hi hat.Beware!!!
