Assembly was not difficult for me, but if you’re new to assembling furniture, have a second person there to help out. I managed to balance a piece on some packing material (as shown) and that part went together perfectly. You’ll know it when you get to that point. When it comes to installing the adjustable surface on top, you’ll either need long limbs and the ability to work ambidextrously, or another person to hold it for you. All pieces were correctly marked and the instructions were easy to follow.
