Finally, I found a product that actually works to help me open all types of jars and pill bottles and. . . Works better than my electric jar opener because it opens smaller containers.I have recommended it to my friends.

My mom and I both have hand problems (hers are neurological, mine are connective tissue issues) that make opening jars and bottles difficult. This is the only thing that works.I got my first one about 5 years ago, and it still looks brand new despite daily use. I got my mom hooked on it, and finally bought her one as well. It’s just as great as my old one, so this might be the only company not cheaping out on materials and labor right now.If you ever have trouble with jars, bottles, canisters, whatever — GET THIS. Get one for friends, relatives, etc. I’m going to start buying these for everyone I know.

UPDATE: I was going to order this for a friend even though it was $16 when I paid $10. I was shocked to see they have raised the price to over $25 when you count tax. I love my friend but I refuse to be held hostage to this ridiculous price gouging. I'm glad I got mine when it was $10 with free shipping because I still think it is wonderful. This probably cost the manufacturer 25 CENTS to make.I drink 8 bottles of water a day. With the manufacturer making the plastic thinner and thinner, every time I opened a bottle I'd have to grip it so hard that the pressure forced a geyser up after the cap was removed. With this device I can easily open a bottle without putting pressure on the bottle. It also is easy on arthritic hands. Sadly, Amazon has decided to add almost $6 shipping for a 50 cent piece of plastic in addition to the $10 charge. $10 is very high but I'd pay it, but to add $6 shipping is adding insult to injury. I was going to buy several more for friends with arthritis, but the ridiculous shipping charge has caused me to change my mind. It still is a great device, just tooo much money.

Judging from the dimensions, I thought this would open most jars. It’s too small for that. It’s absolutely great for bottles and other lids/caps up to about 2 or 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Things I’ve never been able to open by myself are a breeze, so the product does what it says. I just wish it were bigger, or that a larger size were available.

Gotta love Dycem. Coefficient of friction of this material is really high, so it grabs. I've used Dycem products for 30 years. There is one caveat--it has to be clean. Because it is so sticky, it will gather lint, dust, and in turn, oils. If it isn't working like it used to, use some soap and water to clean it, rinse well, and air dry. With regular cleaning, it's hard to wear it out.If the jar is still laughing at you, improve your grip on the jar. If you have fragile and weak hands, try using a kitchen draw at waist height, like the typical top drawer next to the counter. Put the jar into the front of the jar and then use your body weight against the front of the drawer and you turn the lid with your hand. Another option is to buy a small sheet of Dycem and use that to grip the body of the jar with one hand as you turn the jar lid with this cone. Or buy one of the better rated jar openers on Amazon. Or, pour yourself a glass of wine, relax, and say, "I didn't want to open that jar, anyway."
