The first thing I noticed about this siren was that it was not as loud as I expected it to be. They advertise it as a 15 Watt siren, so I decided to find out if that was true. I connected it to an extremely precise voltage and current measuring source. The voltage was set for 14.000 volts and I measured the current as it went through all 5 tones it can produce.The maximum measured result was 0.716 Amps. Ohms law states that power in watts = volts times amps. So, 14 times 0.716 = 10 Watts. It is not 15 as advertised. The power is fully a third less than the manufacturer claims.

I use it instead of the OEM horn on my motorcycle. Because it is fairly exposed to the elements, I usually need to replace it about every 2 years. Works great in traffic!

I needed this to replace one in an old car (2013 model) that has a cheap alarm system. It looks like it is well-made, and it was easy to install. But it is definitely a little quieter than the old one I had to replace (which wasn't very loud).Given the age of the car, I am fine with this. But if you had a nicer or newer vehicle, I would look for something that puts out a little more volume.
