I have only used it for a few minutes and it seemed to work like it should. However be studious when you take it apart to install the correct receiver nut.. it can be difficult to get back together.

Heat transfer from bevel gear head to metal hub in EchoSpeedfeed500 melts line together. Unusable after 15 minutes. Echo knows now, after all the complaints. In my opinion, they must have known earlier...in product development, I would hope. Oh well. It's on them now. We'll see. In the mean time, I ordered a new Husqvarna t35 to replace the unusable Echo Speedfeed500 that I bought(and am out $ on) to replace the original 8 year old t35.8 years versus unusable.

At first, it was great, powerful and then, right after I change, the string started the problems. I was very curious to see why it kept happening was frustrating of course so I looked into it. I switch my line that didn’t work. It kept cutting on one side and one side kept getting tangled no matter what I did so I switched lines again for the third time, and they kept getting caught again only on one side, and, I’m not amateur I know how to use weed and there’s no logical reason for this to happen. I started looking inside. I looked in between the string and I found a piece of plastic that I’m assuming doesn’t belong there and every time I would try to feed it it would cut my line. I have not returned this one yet, but I will be very disappointed in this. I will probably try it again just to see if it was a fluke thing because I love echo and all my equipment is echo. .

Product shows head and coloured adapters. Received head only, which looks good, but no adapters, so a rip off. Tried to return or get missing bits, either have to take to UPS, which is miles away or post at my cost. What a pain, don’t buy this one as likely to have same problem. So I will have to try and get adapter 😡

lost the end cap for the speed feed 450 I was using so I ordered this. idk if its the line I'm using (stihl) but it tangles inside constantly in this speed feed 500 , which is supposed to be able to take more line, (it did not tangle in the 450) even if i use less line it still tanglesso all in all I would not say its an improvement over the speedfeed 450, in my opinion its worse

Bought this for my Stihl FSA 135 R. Listed as a compatible model in the table.Whilst it does bolt on with the green adapter fine this head fits way lower than the OEM Stihl one, and, once the spacer is installed its even worse. I'd say the trimmer head is about an inch under the bottom of the big guard (one with the black skirt) and closer to an inch and a half under the smaller guard.Originally had my smaller guard on, and first time i bumped it noticed that the line spins under the guard / cutting blade. Problematic. Switched over to the larger guard and it kind of works. It's a 50/50. Sometimes hits the blade, and sometimes the plastic under it.All in all, despite saying it fits the Stihl 135 R, I dont think it does, unless you are running without guard. Contacted Echo customer support for help, didnt receive a reply.
