The key is sometimes tricky to get in place but as long as the key is seated properly this all metal set up will last far longer than the plastic version with the layered plates that have the integral key that shears off. Much more reliable. if the key seems too wide for the slot, simply sand it with some 600 grit on each side and press it in while holding it with a smaller needle nose.

Works great on older model with plastic flywheel just make sure to adjust the gap between the coil an flywheel u cam use a piece of soda can works great 🤙😁😁😁😁

Sheared key within 20 minutes. I think Echo has a design flaw. You know it's not good if there are videos on YouTube on fixing. Better off purchasing different model of leaf blower. Not Echo brand. Or at least not a Echo ES 250. just wasted time and money purchasing another flywheel.
