Due to some reviews, I was very hesitant ordering this. I lubed the o-ring and left it to soak up. Filter and o-ring did fall back down a few times but I was able to give the right push and snap in the o-ring part of the filter. Just be very gentle while doing it. It worked for me and after a few weeks of driving, I have no issues.

This product fits perfectly and no problems with it. You have to lube the red O ring, line it up with the hole and give it a good push with the palm of your hand or it won't stay in place.

It's a filter. Gasket it came with was perfect. O-ring however was split on arrival, I tried testing if it was even elastic. Nope. Crumbles into pieces immediately. Gladly I had an O-ring already. As others have mentioned. The pieces that are suppose to help it stay held in place - don't do a great job at that.Only hoping that the pan is keeping it securely in place. Because it definitely will fall into the pan during installation. But car/transmission sounds good. Up and running. No leak from the pan gasket. (Did not use RTV with the gasket.) - So other than some build quality issues, it is a filter, hopefully working. And a decent pan gasket.

Just changed my transmission oil and filter. This may be a great filter and the gasket certainly fit perfectly but what use is a good filter and gasket if you can't install it? I drained the oil in the pan and cleaned the pan gasket surface and tranny gasket surface. It was when I tried to install the filter that the problems began. Oh, it fit in position just fine but when I released it to grab the pan ...it fell out. Now I know your supposed to tap them in position gently but when the pickup tube o ring and the two locating pins are so greatly undersized, there is no way for the filter to stay in position log enough to attach the pan !! No I suppose I could have wound some teflon tape around the pickup tube and locating pins to make a snug fit, but what if a piece came loose or worse, disintegrated over time.... what could that do to those tiny valves in the transmission? No, that would be a 10 on the dumb scale and I try never to exceed a five. So there I was with absolutely no possible way to finish the filter change and get my van back on the road, Of course the wife had to pick this week to visit her sister 200 miles away, so no 2nd car to run to the auto parts store. Well, I finally came up with a hack that I thought would be acceptable. I took an old tapered punch, wamed it gently with a torch and expanded the 2 locating pins slightly. I was then able to put the filter in position long enough to attach the pan. (Once the pan is installed it holds the filter in position.) So there you go .... horrible experience and all because they couldn't get the dimensions of the locating pins and pickup tube right. Suggest you avoid this product and find one that actually fits.

Installed on 2006 Chrysler Town & Country with just the gasket (no RTV) more than a month ago - no leaks. Also put on a new pan with drain plug by Dorman (under $20) which makes drain and fill much easier.

Correct fit for 2001 PT Cruiser. Gasket is good at holding bolts to pan for easier installation.. The filter has the same problem as others I have installed: It does not stay in place and keeps dropping off, even with th O ring. Frustrating and should be fixed. Otherwise good product
