This is a great kit!I am working on my Human Service Degree with an emphasis on Developmental Disabilities. In my work I provided at home care and support in the community for an youngster with physical and developmental disabilities, one diagnosis being Autism. He was in my care for six years, in this time I also worked with him at school as a para-educator. This set would have been great for him and others in similar programs as him. In my time with him, we used a lot of different matching and puzzle games…to be honest he was getting bored with them, this set brings matching to a whole new level. Because of his physical difficulties the fine motor skills needed to put the two piece puzzles in this set together might have been a little difficult for him (he used peg puzzles) but the challenge and both simplicity of matching the two pieces would have been perfect. I can see this helping kiddos with fine motor skills that do not have the additional challenge of physical disabilities. One of the animal matching sets uses plain silhouette animal pictures matched with more realistic animals (albeit cartoon ones) that are very similar to ones used in his school curriculum. I love that there is also a tray that matches cartoon animals, with pictures of actual animals. Animals is one of the things that grabs his attention, he spent a lot of time with books and tv shows that depicted the cartoon animals. Not only that but his speech device also uses “cartoon” animals. I like that this gives a good comparison of real animals versus cartoons.I am by no means an expert or a licensed educator but I can see this being a valuable tool to add to school curriculum, or even for at home use. We were forever trying to find games we could play with him at home but he has very limited interests, abilities and attention span. I really wished I had, had this when I was working with him.I don’t mean to sound rude here but I was a little skeptical of what the quality of this kit would be when I ordered it, thinking it might be a cheap Chinese knock off, but this set is of good quality both in materials and content. I would highly recommend these kits. I look forward to acquiring the rest of the volumes of these stets, and feel they will be valuable with my future work endeavors.

I was impressed with the quality of this box—the pieces are sturdy, smooth, and just right for little hands. My dayghter was SO excited when she spotted the owl footprint—her favorite animal!I also love that it’s all-in-one: opposites, professions, animal tracks—so much learning in one place. Plus, the cleanup takes two seconds. Everything fits right back in the box, ready for next time.

This kit offers a lot of potential for learning numbers, colors, words, pictures, fruits, and plant sources. Three different trays of square pieces are stored in a lidded bin with a tall cup and a flat surface inside. Each tray has nine pieces that cover a picture with a connection to that piece. I believe the idea is to set the tray on the flat surface, remove the pieces, and drop them in the cup. Then randomly pull out the pieces and determine where they go on the tray. Each tray gets progressively harder to match. The easiest is the number tray with a numeral on the piece and dots to count to determine a match. There’s color matching, too, to help prove you’re correct. The next tray has different colors on the pieces, and pictures of items in that color on the tray to match. The color name is also printed on the pieces. The third and hardest tray has fruits on the pieces, and the plant from which they grow on the tray. This is pretty unusual for a young child’s toy. At first I thought it was unreasonable to expect a child to “get it”, but a miniature of the fruit is shown on the plant, so they could easily make the connection. It’s actually pretty smart to teach the concept that fruit comes from someplace other than the grocery store! The reason I had to guess how to use the toy is because all of the instructions are in German. There’s a QR code that leads to an English manual, but it simply shares general information about childhood development, not about how to use the toy. I think this misses an opportunity to help parents employ different clever ways to enhance learning. Parents will need to sit with the child - at least initially - to let them know when they’ve made a correct match. It seems like this toy is very limited in scope and how long it will keep the attention of a child. There are other “Volumes” offered separately on Amazon. I think it would be better to combine at least two volumes in one package (six trays) to offer more matching options at once. I love the storage box, the sturdy trays/pieces, and the colorful pictures; it’s a well-made toy! I just think they missed the mark for expanding a child’s learning experience, and the interaction with a parent. I’ll definitely keep this volume, and will likely purchase another one to have more options for playing with my granddaughter.

Fantastic product, both my kids (5 & 8) are entertained for hours with the Activity Box ! The various games they can play means they don’t get bored and will try to complete them quicker each time which I think helps them develop key skills.

I am an ESL teacher and this game has greatly helped my newcomers. My students identify the images easily, love to play a matching game, and have been using some compound sentences when describing what is happening in the pictures. My students already ask me to get the "blue box" out, every day, so they can practice vocabulary and at the same time have fun playing.

Bought this as a birthday gift for my toddler nephew and it's a fun and easy way to get him to learn new words. It's small, portable, and easy to put back together as well when done. I enjoyed sitting with him to play and think this is a good bonding toy for parents and their child to do together when they start to get curious and eager to learn.
