The seat posts are smaller in diameter than the stated size to ensure you get the right fit the first time. The diameter listed is for the frame seat post opening, for example 25.4mm. The seat post will actually measure smaller (about 25.0mm-25.2mm) so that it will fit into the 25.4mm opening of your bike frame.

It is so smooth it is hard to tighten into the bike down tube. Had to rough up the. surface and now it is fine

I wasn't looking for the lightest (or most expensive) seat post, but something that was adjustable and inexpensive. I got both. It is better made than my previous one that cost two to three times more.

Works well and as described. The only problem is it is hard to get the bracket to lock down the seat rails in place with the single bolt design. The seat slightly shifts out of ideal placement when locking the bolt down.
