I honestly have not used this on eggs, I wanted it primarily to make slicing strawberries faster, and it works perfectly in that capacity.The wires are strong and slice through the strawberries with ease. Overall construction of the slicer is very sturdy and well made. It only requires one hand to use and I can slice 2 pounds of strawberries in less than half the time required doing it by hand with a knife.Absolute must have for anyone who makes a lot of jams, preserves or home cans.

It works well on hard boiled eggs, but I also found that it slices other softer foods like kiwis and mushrooms. It saves me a lot of time slicing mushrooms this way rather than having to cut them with a knife. I am experimenting what else I can slice without damaging the slicer. It is a pretty handy tool.
