Chalk is already a brittle product. It’s just the nature of the product. But these are very slim so breakage is expected. I use this chalk a lot for more artistic details in drawings on traditional metal chalkboards. I also use a chalk holder to make handling and usage easier. My favorite part is that the colors are very vibrant and unique.

*edit*I've now had a chance to use the chalk. It breaks extremely easy.A little bummed, when I opened the package, 4 of the pencils were broken. One in multiple places. Other than that, i got what i wanted. Writes great on my painted blackboard

It really doesn't write very well on my board. Not thrilled and most likely will not buy again. The chalk is too hard (if that makes sense) when I go to write it doesn't make any impression on the board.

These are not great writing tools for teachers. They squeak and scratch the board permanently.

All of these were in tiny pieces that can't even be used. The few that weren't in small pieces, broke as soon as I used them. Completely dissatisfied.
