My bug loving little 5 year old Tomboy loves this! The bug vacuum is still going strong after being forgotten about in the rain a couple times. So far it's been used for spiders, fireants, Rollie Pollies, stink bugs, and even a red velvet ant!!! Light also works good. Definitely worth the buy!

This would have been an awesome kit, except the vacuum stopped working after a couple day, we thought maybe it needed to be charged, but even after giving it a few hours, it wouldnt turn on, and kept dying. Everything else was great though.

The bug vacuum is a fun and educational toy that allows children to capture insects without harming them. The vacuum cleaner usually operates with a simple, child-friendly mechanism, such as a hand pump or battery-powered suction. This allows children to catch bugs in a safe and non-invasive manner. The habitat case is designed to safely house captured insects, providing a clear view through a transparent lid. This allows children to observe their bugs up close and learn about them. The case typically includes ventilation holes to ensure the bugs get enough air. The magnifying glass is an educational tool that helps children get a closer look at the insects they capture. It is usually designed with a sturdy handle and an easy-to-use lens, making it suitable for young explorers. This kit is designed for child safety. The vacuum has mild suction power, and the habitat case is easy to open and close. The magnifying glass is shatter-resistant. The kit is durable enough for outdoor use but not as robust as expensive scientific equipment. Proper care and storage can help extend the life of the kit.Pros:Engaging Design: Colorful and appealing to young children.Educational Benefits: Encourages curiosity about nature and promotes learning.Safe and Fun: Bug vacuum captures insects without harming them, and the magnifying glass provides close-up views.Complete Kit: Includes all necessary tools for bug exploration and observation.Promotes Outdoor Activity: Encourages kids to spend time outside and explore their environment.Cons:Limited Functionality: The kit is designed for casual exploration and may not be suitable for more serious entomological study.Durability: Plastic components may wear out with frequent use or rough handling.Size Limitations: The habitat case may be too small for larger insects or multiple critters.

My little one was super excited about the bug vacuum, we opened up the box and the vacuum turned on then shut off and hasn't worked since. :/

My grandson has just found his newest interest, bugs! He is really interested in figuring out which bugs are good, and which bugs hurt! I’m trying to teach him the difference through science, and this bug collection kit.Christmas is going to be fun for my grandson this year, I can’t wait until he sees this bug collector kit. I know that, even though it will be snowing, he will be looking for bugs anyways. He might even find a few. I’m worried that he will find spiders and come to love them. Eek! Whatever he does, with love and enthusiasm, I support. All I know is that he is going to be super excited with the kit. He will wear it out as soon as he has the chance to do so.This kit is really cool. I was just describing it to my husband over the phone. There are so many pieces to the kit:* It has the bug habitat, or bug collector box, with a magnifying glass within it. It also has a long strap so that he can keep the bug box close,* It has the bug vacuum, which really works because I tried it. The bug vacuum has a motorized handle, you will find the button for the vacuum, and a button for a light so he can really see when he has located a bug. What is cool about this piece is that there is probably a 6” clear tube, with an end piece that tapers down small enough to collect a bug, but not let it escape,* it has a multifunctional whistle, a light at the end of the whistle, and a compass,* it has a bug paper chart that identifies the bugs on a chart,* it has a stamp so that when he finds a bug that is on the chart, he can stamp it signifying that he has found that bug.The idea with the vacuum, and the bug box, is that when he finds a bug, he will suck it into the tube. Then he will transfer it through a smaller hole in the bug box. After he studies the bug in the bug box, he can release it back into its habitat. I think that the price of the bug collector is close to being a little high, but when I remember all the science that went into the bug collection kit, and what it may inspire in him for future careers, I understand the price. Besides, every piece is super high quality. Every piece is well made. I’m looking forward to what CHEERBANK, the manufacturer, will make next.

This seems like a great product out of the box. All looks great BUT vacuum does not stay charge or hold a charge. I tried twice, thinking my first purchase was damaged but same thing happened to the replacement.

This bug catcher kit comes with a bug vacuum, whistle with compass, and a bug catcher container! I got this for my nephew who is just a toddler, and I would say it was age appropriate for him. The container is small, and so it fits him very well. The vacuum was OK, but he wasn't really interested in that, he like the whistle much more and played with that for quite some time! The set is pretty tiny, but very cute, and fully functional. The only thing I didn't like was that in order to open the lid to the bug container, you have to remove the two clasps on the side that are attached to the neck band. That was difficult for my nephew to do and so that ended up breaking. Other than that, he had fun while it lasted!
