This Yardmaris chainsaw sharpening kit is so basically a quality, well built electric rotary tool outfitted with chain saw sharpening accessories. I love that it comes with a sturdy, stiff sided, zipper storage case of equal quality to a $22.00 travel case from Caseling which I ordered for storing my 20v drill, battery and charger. While I have not yet studied or mastered how to sharpen my chainsaw’s chain (youtube videos and websites) as that topic is not covers by the included paper manual, I believe the tool is well up to the task. I have set the tool up with some of my rotary tool (Dremel) accessories, and the tool performed admirably for sanding, cutting and carving. It is heavier than my Dremel so I don’t see it replacing it for all tasks, but it certainly did a great job on sharpening my garden shovels and pruners! The ability to control the tools speed truly matters. This is not a one trick pony kind of tool, and built to handle beefy tasks. I will update as to how I get on with the saw sharpening soon as my chain is dull, dull, dull after some Spring cleanups!

This product simply combines a rotary tool with an attachment for sharpening chainsaw blades. Fortunately, it turns out to be a very nice rotary tool. It operates smoothly, is quiet, and appears to be just as powerful as my Dremel. For only slightly less than this entire set, D sells an attachment like this for their tool, and in fact, the two are interchangeable. However, getting the tool and the attachment for this price is quite a bargain. The jury is still out on the quality of the supplied rotary files. After sharpening just a few chains, I could see noticeable wear. It still worked, but I wonder for how long. Perhaps running the file at a slower speed would extend its life. I’m not sure, because the tool’s instructions barely even mention the sharpening attachment, with no information on how to actually use it. Also, I didn’t appreciate that the files are unmarked, and I had to measure each one to find the proper size.

This is a quality rotary tool. It appears to be pretty sturdy or robust. I have a similar item from Dremel, and this appears to be of similar quality but a little heavier. I wanted another tool to keep in the barn, so I didn't have to constantly chase my Dremel. This tool puts a good edge on my Husqvarna 20" chainsaw and keeps it cutting efficiently. If you get some additional sanding drums it also is quite useful for adjusting your dog's toenails with little fuss. It is a little noisier than my Dremel but for the price- I'm happy. I don't know how long the included Diamond grinding stones will last but I have conventional stones in reserve.

Very nice tool with many many uses. This is very versatile and can be used for a member of different projects not just sharpening a chainsaw chain. It sharpens very well and seems to be very well. Made in good quality. I like the speed adjustment.

Reviewing: Electric Chainsaw Sharpener Kit with Diamond Bits - High-Speed Chain Saw Sharpener Tool and 3 High Hardness Sharpening Wheels, Angle Attachment & 2 Wrenches for All Chainsaw ChainsThis is essentially a Dremel tool with a chainsaw angle guide. It works especially well for sharpening carbide chain saw chains, as standard HSS files are softer than carbide and so will not sharpen them.

Seems heavy duty, smooth powerful motor, relatively heavy. No directions included, so you're on your own there. Sharpening is a little fiddly, but if you want to have a less fiddly experience, you'll have to spend more money. Bits are not numbered, which is annoying, but if you sharpen more than a couple times a year, you'll probably have to get new ones anyway, as these are middling quality. In the end, it does the job - and of course you can use your dremel bits with it as well. When you add in the decent case (though it should be slightly bigger), it's a good value. The only unknown is durability. If anything fails prematurely, this review will be updated.

This thing is girthy, if you have smaller hands this might not be for you.It works! I find it rolls a pretty heavy burr that I have to come back and cleanup with a hone - this is probably to be expected. There are no instructions on how to select the correct sized sharpening head or how to use it to sharpen a chain. I was able to figure it out but the manual only tells you how to affix the sharpener to the tool and that's about it.How I setup the sharpener:- Choose the largest sharpening head that slips easily into the cutter notch via side entry (not from the top). It should closely match the curve under the cutting surface.- Loosen the screws in the face of the angle guide attachment so they are still snug but you can rotate the angle guide. You want to have to use a fair bit of force - you want to be able to move it but you really want it to stay where you put it.- Slide the assembly onto the chain (remember, enter from the side).- Fiddle around with setting the depth by holding the angle guide firmly and rotating the rotary tool (holding down the locking button may help).- You want the angle guide to be resting on top of the chains cutter top-plate and depth gauge (or the top-plate of the next cutter).- Slide the tool out via the side and tighten the screws. It may be easier to use a new, or sharp, chain for tool setup than one which is in bad need of sharpening.Thoughts on the tool:- It's a brushed motor rotary tool with a single collet making it compatible with generic rotary tool accessories.- The collet is well made and well centered.- It's girthy, grip area measures ~2-1/8" x 1-7/8" (circumference ~6-3/4")While I appreciate the case, I would have preferred it if the case was made to hold the tool with the sharpener attachment - you know - attached.
