I have a cheap short scale bass that when unplugged, sometimes the pickguard screws pull out of the body. When I say cheap, I'm talking like paid 60 for it brand new.I bought it with intention to modify, and needed a jack plate so I decided this one fits the bill.I threw a copycat varitone style circuit in this short scale bass, and moved the jack from the pickguard down to the lower body. Problem solved; no longer do I rip the pickguard up if I'm not careful when unplugging the bass.As far as this goes, the jack plate is sturdy, yet flexible, able to easily adjust to the contour of your guitar or bass body. The screws that came with it also were easy to work with. Some of the lesser quality screws are prone to having heads round off of them, but I had no issues with applying these to my bass.As my title says, this makes for a good replacement if yours is damaged or tarnished, and also makes for an excellent piece to have as a spare if you like to modify your instruments.

Here's another replacement output jack plate from OVSAL, this time in an oval or 'football' shape often seen on Telecasters and some Stratocasters. This one comes in a gold finish and is made of stainless steel. It's designed as a replacement part for compatible Fender-style guitars.Like the boat-shaped version, this plate's job is to securely hold the output jack. I am so, so pleased with this replacement black jack plate for tele or strat style electric guitars.Nicely manufactured, complete with screws and with an excellent deep black finishing that appears as if it will hold up well to use, this replacement jack plate is perfect for use as a repair item or if you are a guitar kit builder looking to replace kit provided chrome hardware with blacked-out hardware.I am building guitar kits now and appreciate the availability of replacement black parts such as this, at a reasonable price range, since I prefer all black hardware on my guitars.I am very, very happy with this item---thank you
