This is the coolest gadget/gizmo i have bought in a few years! Makes pickling eggs super easy and super fast! No more waiting 3 weeks for the pickling to get deep into the egg whites.

Doesn't work at all, battery goes to zero immediately upon unplugging, using a longer cord I got it to where it appeared to vacuum, however after trying it on large and small jars until the cycle stops, it always just comes off the jar with the lid stuck inside the vacuum unit. Amazon 1st sent me a hummingbird feeder instead of this item, then sent the correct item...and it may as well be a paperweight, it does nothing as advertised. If I lean any harder on it to attempt establishing vacuum, I will break it.

Like most of us, I've also accumulated my share of mason jars. I don't like plastic bags for storing food. This little wonder is just what I needed! No more trying to pry off a stuck mason jar ring because it got pitted from last summer's humidity. Hurray! that problem vanished. Finally! those expensive nuts remain fresh and dry! I vacuum-sealed every dry food mason jar I had, it was almost effortless; Takes less than a minute to do, and they're completely sealed! Easy peasy!Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer - fits over any standard mason jar lid, quart, and pint size, don't worry you can use it for the lids you already have.I pushed the unit down over my wide-mouth quart-size Ball jars, pushed the button and viola! about a minute later, done! Then carefully turned the unit counterclockwise to remove it from the jar... SO SUPER EASY!Nuts, dry soup ingredients, seasonings from the garden, anything dry! What a wonderful thing to have. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this!!!! -- Lastly, through a fluke, my sister sent me another (different brand) vacuum sealer. It's the same concept and looks almost identical BUT that unit's bright blue silicone gasket (that's imperative for sealing) Humph! got stuck on a lid and tore on the 2nd jar I tried it on.Luckily I have THIS unit to save the day! So, they aren't all the same... Do yourself a favor, even though this unit doesn't come with a bazillion lids and all the extra crap, IT WORKS BETTER! Buy this one if you're looking for a dependable jar sealer, it's absolutely, worth it!

Was plagued by cereal worm/flies...after disposing of suspected infected product, I put all others in jars and sealed them. My cupboard looks great and no more pests to gag about!

A super convenient to use device that I plan to use often!Straight out of the box, I thought this vacuum sealer was intuitive to use. I simply pushed it onto the jar with a lid, pushed the start button. That's it. The device automatically stopped on its own once a seal was attained.It's well marked for removing the smaller head so that I can seal the large mouth mason jars. When charging, the LCD display tells me what % charged the battery is at. Also, when using, it shows a count-up in seconds of how long it takes to vacuum, and upon completion, it will flash the current battery life remaining.So far, I've vacuumed 4 jars, and I'm still at 99% battery life.I'm not sure I'll use it for food items that I would normally heat process, since part of the preservation of the food is done while at high temperature. But for dried goods, I can see that this will be very handy to extend the life of pantry items such as flour, grains, dried fruit, nuts, etc. I'm hoping that this will keep my almonds, walnuts and pistachio fresher for longer!One downside I found was that the device is made of a smooth plastic. Once vaccumed, I had a hard time pulling the device off the jar because I couldn't get a good grip on it. It's minor, but it would have been nice to have a different gripping design.Overall, I really like this easy to use vacuum sealer, and I think it will become a standard in my kitchen.
