This electrical insulating adhesive paper has been a great addition to my electronics projects, particularly for assembling small battery packs. I purchased this self-adhesive insulating paper primarily for shielding spot welded connections on battery pack builds: It’s so much nicer to have new paper to use, rather than attempting to salvage and re-stick old paper.This paper is at least 0.2mm thick, as advertised. As such, it’s a bit stiff off of the roll, but the strong adhesive backing works well to counteract the tendency to curl. The thick paper provides excellent protection for the seams on my battery packs and blocks accidental contact with the electrodes. The paper is definitely flame retardant, as it does not easily ignite when I expose it to flame. In addition, I’ve exceeded temperatures of 104°F (40°C) for more than an hour, without the adhesive backing loosening.After building 3 packs with this tape, I’m happy to say that I’ve found a new favorite supply: It’s easy to cut and apply, doesn’t easily fall off, and is very rugged. In addition, it has a much more professional look than old reused paper or electrical tape.

This is just what I needed to build safe 18650 packs. I'm using an art store hole punch to customize the strips for my pack. You can get larger sized hole punches if you look in the scrapbooking section of art stores. Now I need to find a good smart active balancing BMS to add to my 14s pack. Enjoy.

Building a small battery pack? Need to keep it nice and snug? Er, I mean, insulated? Drop this wrap on it! Be sure to goog search how to properly build a pack, btw, so as not to electrocute or burn things up. But for 18650 sizes and smaller, this works nicely as part of the process. I would probably not get into high-voltage ranges with this stuff, leave those to pros.
