The wire is as described and certainly will weather life underground in my yard. The temptation was to remove the plastic outer wrap and just unroll what was needed, but from experience I know this ultimately leads to tangled wire. The box is of the right size that it can be used as a dispenser. Just cut the plastic wrap, punch a small hole in the side of the box and thread the wire through it. You can then pull out what's needed without worrying about unraveling and tangling.I don't have much luck with the cramp on connectors for outdoor lighting, so I use waterproof wire nuts. For me this is an easier managed option when changing layout or replacing fixtures.Overall an A+ experience with this wire!
