This module and those like it must be grounded to the cooktop. Some setups have 3 pins for input (hot, neutral, ground) and some, like this one, have just (hot & neutral) in this case, one of the spark pins must be used as the ground. This device has a 2 pin input so the 6th pin is the ground. Use any pin you like but one must be grounded. If your using this for fewer burners ground the unused pins. This is a (5) burner MAX Igniter. In any case this brand is not UL Listed. This type of Igniter is used in hundreds of cooktops and not just the ones listed here.Cheers
