We connected it to our porch light electrical outlet to shine for the Christmas to Epiphany season. It is beautiful and reminds us of our days in Winston-Salem, N Carolina.

Comes folded and is very hard to put together. Looks pretty if you manage it

This is a beautiful star and we love it. However, there are some gotchas that make this a 3 star review:1) You need a POLARIZED outlet to plug this into. Standard Christmas tree lights are non polarized, and the open end/outlet (female) will not work with this star’s plug (male). I could not plug star into the Christmas tree lights because the star has two different size prongs in the plug which is meant for a polarized outlet. You need to purchase a non polarized to polarized adapter. Amazon has one for $8.99 labeled “ Ceptics Japan, Philippines NEMA 1-15 Travel Power Plug Adapter Accepts NEMA 5-15R - ETL Certified - Industrial Grade (IG-6)” which works perfectly. You can search for others as well, but this one is perfect and small.2) The star has a green little rod that attaches directly to the top of the tree via green zip ties provided. The star does not have an insert to slide over a standard top branch. If you do not have a straight/strong branch on top, you may have difficulties tying the star or the star could lean to one side. Just make sure you can secure it to the top branch by having a strong/straight top.3) Mine came with a bulb, but per another review, it has not. This is a warm white LED 120V tubular candelabra bulb. (There is a LED ONLY warning with the packaging. You can find this on amazon A 6-pack costs a little over $18)4) Assembly is easy in my opinion and others said it was difficult. It was not hard at all, I think the clips on The side holding it together are a little tough at first, but that’s what makes it secure.Final thoughts:It's a beautiful star, with great aesthetics, but has multiple flaws that require some extra legwork. The question you must answer is:Is this star unique and beautiful enough to warrant the extra effort? It was for us…

It’s by far the easiest star I’ve ever installedIt’s supported by a plastic straw that comes with and three zip ties ( i used my own small ones since the one they sent is overkill)It’s very lightBeautiful on all sidesEasy to assemble ( unfold and secure two clips) fold flat for storageI only gave 4 stars because the straw for the price I paid should have at least been metal but it’s eazy to replace if need be

Used as a tree topper. Assembly required a gentle touch. If handled carefully, can be disassembled and reused for years. Light on tree top was evenly distributed..

Absolutely love my new star topper! So easy to assemble. My only issue is I couldn't have it lit as it has an American plug. But I knew this before I purchased. Great buy, great value.

Our family of five always makes the tree a team effort. Hubby insists on multicolor lights, kids like LOTS of ornaments, and I've been searching for the perfect star for 20 years. This one might not be perfect but better than we've had before.Pros* Very clear and bright* Diffused light* Can't see any wires, bulbs or defects once it is on the tree.* This size is good for a tall tree -- ours is 8+ feet in this photo.Cons* Came with a round bulb, maybe a slimmer shape would make it easier to "unfold" the star* Difficult to attach to the tree - sits at a weird angle. We ended up getting a garden stake to put through the bottom and then tying the stake to the top branch , but still the star leans outward. Since our tree is against a window and tall, it was OK.* Possibly a little too bright? You can see how it illuminates the whole ceiling above the tree. The kids felt like it overwhelms the other ornaments.I like this star. Even if we don't use it as a tree topper I will use it elsewhere in the house as a cool nighttime decoration.

I love this star! I went to school in Winston-Salem, NC, where there is a restored Moravian village, Old Salem, and this brings back many fond memories. It was very easy to put together (takes five minutes or less) and to attach to the tree. It is made of plastic, but that means it will withstand the elements (we just had several heavy rainstorms, and it came through those beautifully and is still shining). Highly recommended!

This new 2019 model has eliminated all the things that the older model was being criticized for! 1) You DO need to assemble the socket for the supplied bulb but it is a simple snap in retainer to hold it in place. 2) The electrical wire no longer exits in the same tube that the mounting stick goes into...they each have their own tube. 3) Main assembly is (as stated) simply open by fanning the two halfs open and swing two attached clips in place to hold it together.I put mine on a Dwarf Blue Spruce in the front yard and it looks fantastic both by day and when lighted at night!! Have received several compliments on it. Love the fact that it is so three dimensional so you get the same effect all the way around the tree instead of just in front or back.

One of the worst designs I've seen in a while and I was in consumer products for 30+ years. 1. Bulb socket when installed per instructions puts AC wire in a severe bend. 2. Clip that is supposed to hole socket in place, doesn't. 3. Takes a lot of effort to expand star into it's full shape. No reason it should be that hard. 4. AC wire occupies the same space that the "stem" used to attach to your tree occupies. Problem is there is not enough room for both. Bottom line is while $29 may not be a lot of money, it's too much for this product. I'm returning this one and looking for something better to adorn the top of our Christmas tree.
