I loved this pattern as soon as I saw it, but in my many years of sewing had never taken on what appeared to be an enormously challenging quilt. 40+ fabrics - 8 groups of 5 shades! It sincerely was more engaging and fun than all my previous quilts ever were. Once I picked fabrics (I selected my own, using all patterned fabrics and not the solids recommended) and taped them to the front cover as recommended, I was able to focus 100% on the cutting and sewing. The various animals made it more enjoyable - I was able to tackle each animal group, feeling success with each section, rather than feeling overwhelmed by a WHOLE quilt of just one pattern. I'm thrilled with the final product, as is my daughter who will have her fantastic forest on her bed until she is grown and gives it to her daughter or grands. Not ideal for the novice sewer, but anyone who has made a quilt before can absolutely do this! :-)

I have several of Elizabeth’s quilt patterns and they are by far my favorites to make. I love the more ‘modern’ quilt designs, and all of hers fit that bill to me. This pattern is no different...beautifully colored diagrams and clear instructions. I have made this quilt several times now for baby gifts, and I love how versatile it can be just depending on the color scheme you go with. I’ve made it for both baby girls and boys and the mothers have loved them!

These wonderful patterns are fun and whimsical. Great stash buster if you have a good stash. But the patterns are not for those who like to be casual with their measuring, cutting, and quarter inch seams. They are fabulous depictions of animals - and there are lots more fun designs from this designer. What an eye to come up with such cute designs.

Elizabeth Hartman are my favorite patchwork quilts. Nothing better than creating with fabric. Her animals come to life using fabric ingeniously. Get some crazy, wild fabric, and you've make a quilt like no other. You'll laugh! These patterns are good for piecers and those wanting to improve accuracy. Easiest block: Fancy fox. Most challenging: Hazel Hedgehog and Firefly. Directions are very similar to origami. You can use small pieces of fabric here. One of my favorites and most requested baby quilts.

Such a cute quilt and directions were very easy to follow. I have been sewing for a few years and consider myself an intermediate skill level sewer. This intimidated me a bit at first but the ladies at my local quilt store were very helpful with tips and encouragement. My biggest tip for this, and any quilt, is to use a spray starch before cutting and to take your time. I ma the baby quilt size for a close friend and it turned out wonderfully.
