Bivy sacs are so useful for emergency situations and can be used in many ways. I saw an advertisement on Instagram for a similar item but it was priced way higher. When I saw these on Amazon for this price, I knew that I had to try them. They come with their own portable carry bag (it's a tiny package all together) so they are easy to throw in a backpack for a hike or in a bug out bag. It's a bright orange green so it's easy to find in a bag but also makes you easy to find if you're lost. This is a just in case item that you don't want to be without if you find yourself in an emergency. These can act as a shelter, am emergency blanket for warmth, a sleeping bag, or a waterproof layer. There are other uses as well but those are the obvious ones.

This is a set of two emergency sleeping bags. They are bright orange and come in their own carrying sack. They are no bigger than a deck of cards. The carrying sack is made well and the sleeping bag inside is very nice for what it is. This is truly for emergencies. This is a huge step up from the little silver ones you get, as it is thicker and has a orange coating on one side. This is in the shape of a tube so you can use it as a tube tent or just climb in it as a bag. This is something you would keep in your everyday carry bag. The end of the lanyard has a small built-in whistle. Everything works well and is a much better quality than the other ones on the market. If you had nothing else with you, at least you wouldn't freeze at night in a survival situation. I am very happy to have this set of two emergency sleeping bags to keep with us when we go in the back roads, you just never know.

Good value for 2 of these as they are not super durable and my old one has been used a couple times so it has some holes. These feel a bit heavier than my other one, and I think it's the stuff sack which is a pretty thick fabric on these, perhaps thicker than needed. Unfortunately they also made the stuff sack pretty small, and if you use the bivy and try to put it back in the stuff sack it will be poking out the end. Other brands use a thinner and lighter stuff sack that's also LONGER so when you repack the bivy you have some room to work with.Also beware these have a strong chemical smell when you first take them out, which would be pretty annoying in a real-life rescue situation. Unfortunately the only solution to this is to take them out to air out but then you have to struggle to put them back in the stuff sacks.

Emergency blankets are a pretty simple idea with a lot of great uses, and I heard this sleeping bag was an upgrade on that idea. The material is sorta similar to emergency blankets, but thinner, and the design includes two layers and a closed end. I don’t know what kind of chemical or plastic they added to the exterior shell, but the off-gassing on these sleeping bags is terrible, to the point where my whole house smelled like a mix of burnt plastic and acetone. Opening one was enough to inspire me to store them in the garage, where I hope airing them out will help. As it stands, I don’t know why these smell like this, as I haven’t experienced it with any other emergency blanket.

These are very standard quality emergency blankets and are big enough to make an ad hoc shelter if needed. The winning feature for me is the small drawstring bag these come in which makes it easy to clip on to my day pack. They are very light and hardly add any weight to my pack but they definitely add a sense of preparedness. Getting a two pack for the price is a great value and ensures that I would have a back up just in case one happens to fall off my pack by chance.

These are perfect to keep on hand in a go-bag, emergency kit or car breakdown kit. Very lightweight, pack down well. These would not be great for constant, hard use, of course- just like a fire/emergency blanket they are meant to be temporary. Having said that, you could stay warm for a few nights if trapped in your car in a winter storm or other emergency situation. This will get the job done.
