Designed for the homeowner who wants quality and long lasting tools at an affordable price, the Workforce Tools Series offers durable construction that can handle any job. Whether you’re looking at a weekend project or a heavy-duty DIY summer, a Square Point Shovel from Workforce Tools is an absolute essential. Tough and long lasting, the Square Point Shovel is the perfect cornerstone of your tool collection. Featuring a 48-inch long wooden handle, the Square Point Shovel is exceptionally strong. The wooden construction resists splinters, chips, cracks, and splits over time. And, unlike metal handles, it won’t rust from humidity or damp working conditions. Wood gives an easy grip that makes your projects easier, even while wearing gloves. With a long handled shovel like ours, strength can be leveraged more effectively to lift heavy loads. A black powder-coated blade made of heavy duty 16 gauge steel is designed for tough jobs. Digging in the garden, establishing landscapes, and light construction can all be tackled by the homeowner with our quality fiberglass tools. Square shape is great for breaking up earth while the blade edge gives you extra power for driving into resistant materials. Corner points are useful for establishing a hold in dry ground or breaking up compacted material. The Square shovel blade measures 13 inches giving you a long base for lifting dirt, gravel, sand, and more, without being bulky or difficult to lift. If you are a gardener, DIYer, or homeowner looking to build your collection of lawn and garden tools, look no further. Workforce tools are lightweight enough for anyone to use AND sturdy enough for your tough yard and garden projects.

Nice heavy shovel. Doesn’t hurt your hands. It makes it faster than digging with your hands. And it’s the size of an average shovel.

I needed a right size shovel and this is it! Short handled shovel caused me to strain as I was bending low and lifting with my back. The handle as good heft and the scoop seems durable.

It works for the Price, but does not hold up overtime, the wooden handle broke after only using it twice.

When I ordered this shovel, I was expecting something slightly larger and slightly longer. When it arrived, I put it together with some minor disappointment, and wondered how it would hold up.After using for the last few snows, I'd order this again without hesitation. If you live in an area prone to heavy, wet snowfalls, you'll understand what I am about to say. I've used traditional snow shovels for years. When the snow is light and powdery, they're perfect - you can move a lot of snow very quickly. However, when the snow is wet and heavy, those shovels quickly begin to feel as though it is sand or cement being moved instead of snow. This smaller shovel requires more shoveling, but for heavy, wet snow, that's ideal. Your back will thank you. There is another aspect of this shovel that I came to appreciate. Larger shovels can make clearing snow down to the pavement/sidewalk challenging - they tend to catch on uneven surfaces, and the wider surface area of the front of the shovel can make it difficult to cut through packed snow or ice. This shovel has a narrower blade that makes it much easier to cut through packed snow and ice, and for whatever reason, it seems to catch less on uneven surfaces (maybe because it is exposed to fewer surface bumps at any given time). To top it off, this shovel weighs maybe half what the traditional snow shovel weighs. As for how it holds up, so far so good. I've moved a fair amount of snow so far this winter, and see no sign of damage to the shovel blade or handle.
