Ideally this soil sifter will only be suitable and practical for someone who may just need to sift a very small amount of soil - maybe for a few house plants. I thought they were bigger based on the image, but no. They are very small. They're not suitable to my current garden needs as a bigger one would be more practical for me. They can, however, make a great little gift for someone who's not doing gardening on a big scale.

These are nice quality stainless steel. I actually don't know if I'll be using the finer ones but I have them if I need them.

We are actually using these for smaller bits in the litter box. They are perfect for sifting just the size you want. The quality is decent but not something that will last forever. Overall very happy with them.

The scoops are metal, not plastic. This will screen rocks and roots out of soil with no problem. You get two scoops so garden with a friend if you want. There is a soil grabbing tarp that’s not very large but will serve the purpose for a small gardening table. Sifters do have a hook so you can store on your rack.

My next-door neighbor had an unsafe pellet stove in his shed, located in the back corner of his yard, that as we (my partner and I) predicted, caught the shed on fire. Unfortunately, the fence separating our properties also caught fire , which just so happens to be where I was storing all of my pots filled with potting soil I use for my annuals. During the course of the firemen putting the fire out, the water blew tons of burned, pressure-treated wood into my yard and all over the top of my soil. I prefer not to have those chemicals in my soil, but I also didn't feel like picking all the pieces out by hand. That's when I ran across these and figured they were the right tool for the job.They have done a great job of separating all that out, in addition to anything else I come across that I might not want in there. It also makes my potting soil a lot fluffier, which is better for root growth in most cases, so that's a plus. I'm sure these would also work really well for sifting through sand to look for things, like if you're using a metal detector. I also could see using them for cleaning a litter box, seeing as they are stainless steel and easy to clean.While I do sometimes wish they were a little wider, like other versions I have seen, I am usually rather quickly reminded that it's better they be too small, than too big. At least in this case, anyway. I like the fact I can use them in smaller containers, I'm not limited by the width of the sifter. If they were wider, I wouldn't be able to go any smaller than a 5" pot.They seem to be pretty well made, although I have only had them for a few weeks now, so I can't speak to their longevity. While I do think their current price-point is a bit higher than I would like to pay, I also don't have any complaints. Barring something unexpected happening, for example, a handle falling off, these things should last quite a while and I don't have any problem paying extra for that. Now-and-days, it's hard to find products capable of lasting more than a few years, and these shouldn't have any problem doing that. As long as you take care of them properly and make sure you clean them, these should last a good long while.

I’ve been using this soil sifter set for my small composting bins, and it works really well for separating out larger bits from the finer material I want for the garden. The mesh sizes are just right for compost—one lets through fine soil, and the other keeps out the chunkier stuff I still want to break down more. The included repotting mat is a nice bonus and helps keep things tidy.The sifters are smaller than I expected, but they still do a very good job. For small-scale use like mine, the size actually makes them easy to handle and store. Overall, a great little tool set for light compost or soil work.

I mainly got these to test out on the litter boxes! And I'm glad I did! No more little pieces getting through like they do with regular litter scoops with their bigger slate. Very good! And they feel sturdy enough to last a long time also!
